Melbourne are average

Melbourne are better than us in only one position, fullback.

We have better halves, a better hooker and better forwards.

If we submit in their tackles early and not contest a wrestle, it will allow us quick play the balls. We will cut them to shreds.

Melbourne are not average. That is just not right. They aren't as strong as past seasons but you still have to perform very well to beat them.

Big game next Friday night hope we get plenty of our supporters out there I know friday nights can be a problem with work etc. I'll be there and hope many other WTs supporters will be too. Concentrate on winning this game firts, then take on Melbourne that will be a test.

We need to get out to the rest of our games. A good crowd can be a world of difference and we need everything in our favour. :sign:

Melbourne a clearly a good side, but they were poor again yesterday, and have also been on a downward spiral, I think a few teams ran out of juice backend of the season as we came good, cowboys, NZ, Newcastle and Melbourne all ran out of steam in the last few weeks of the comp, hopefully for us they dont turn it around!

I believe we can beat Melbourne in Melbourne….it will be the GF qualifier - the game we bowed out last year - and the boys would be desperate not to repeat the same in 2011...That will spur the boys onto a win...and I for one plan to be there for the game!

People don't understand how unbeatbale the storm are at home, they make the ground narrow so that they can use their wresting tactics so that we can't attack sidways etc, they win 99% of their games at home for a reason. they will frustrate the hell out of us and grind it out to a 16-6 type victory

I can't see Melbourne winning with only three great players. Very few teams can win a gf with such limited attacking ability. There defense is strong but attack predictable and boring. I hope the ref doesn't allow them to lie around the ruck. Finally the tigers have the wood on Melbourne. Can someone give me the statistics on the last ten head to head. That's also taking into consideration they cheated. Melbourne three years ago would make a mockery of this team and I believe the competition has got stronger.

If you want stats the tigers have never won down in Melbourne EVER. and they are lucky to lose more then 1 game there a year

I don't see Melbourne playing better than when they beat the Tigers at Leichhardt a few months ago. But if the Tigers play like they did in last weekend's 2nd half, they can reasonably expect to win about 16-6

I can't believe people can say Melbourne are not good. They won the minor premiership and lost only 5 games all year.

Add to that , they have a week off, which will help them.

I'm not sure that it will. It's another game off for Slater and Smith who sat out their last one. They will have only played one game in three weeks.

Every ground has strict dimensions. You can't produce a ground which falls outside the criteria. I am worried about crowd support when we try and slow the ruck down

I agree they are a good side but not so sure the week off will help them Especially if we get off to a flying start

Just remember how many teams we see the week after the break during semis lose
A fair few in the past six years

reading this thread you would be excused for thinking we are playing Melbourne this week. All i've read is 'if we do this' or 'if Melbourne do that'. Like i said in another thread, if this thread were on a Manly or Dragons forum we'd laugh at how cocky they are. Not to mention if the Warriors were looking past us to Melbourne. This thread will look awfully stupid if we lose friday night
