Meyer: cambo has once last chance

No noise, atmosphere or spirit from the crowd either.

Did not feel like a home game.

.

On the Tele the crowd was chanting tigers nearly the whole second half I caught. It sounded spirited to me

WT pay $0 to play at LO
WT get paid to play at ANZ
And get charged $25000 to play at CSS

Thats a driving factor.

Time for some Sydney teams to be scheduled at Campbelltown..

Souths have never played WT at Campbelltown.. Cant remember the last time St.George Illawarra played there and Manly played WT for the first time there in 2013.

Hard call to say "this is your last chance"

I was there tonight (and today) and loved being there. Great ground for Rugby League.

Come on Campbelltown West Tigers supporters please turn up otherwise our future home matches may forever be confined to the cold, vast, barren spaces of ANZ.

Nice of you to spell his name incorrectly but maybe Mayer should check with the board before opening his mouth or doing his normal putting it out on twitter.

There was no rain at all.

My understanding was it rained all afternoon , if that is incorrect I will retract my statement and apologize

I was just going off what I heard the commentators said - so ditto on retraction/ apology if wrong.

**"It is difficult to reconcile that we got 16,500 people at Leichhardt in the rain and we won against one of the competition heavyweights, yet six days later we can only get 6500 people at one of the best venues in rugby league."**

I can damn well reconcile it - when was the last time we were actually scheduled to play another Sydney team at Campbelltown??? All the Campo matches, in recent memory, have been against interstate sides who have little, or no, supporters living in Sydney, so we never get the benefit of having their fans filling some of the seats, alongside our own. I mean how many times have we had matches against North Qld scheduled there? And now the next one is against bloody Brisbane - seriously! How about getting some matches against Parramatta, Manly or Canterbury scheduled there for once!

That's what the Fox guys said it had rained all afternoon and they were amazed at the state of the field

Didn't they play 2 Sydney teams at Campbo last year? And in 2012?

Putting a sydney team there with those numbers isn't a great business decision. At a minimum, we should be pulling 10k of tigers supporters alone, without having to rely on an away crowd. That isn't currently happening.

I don't know about Mayer saying that, shocked me a bit. But maybe the supporters need a line drawn in the sand. The club have tried nearly everything else. They don't seem to be supported by council or the leagues club either. Surely both those could help promote the game rather than just whinging?

I feel sorry for the supporters that did attend and it's probably most of the blokes on the forum.

The board appoints a CEO to run a club….

So 6,000 tigers supporters and 10,000 away team supporters….. Still doesn't reconcile.

Playing devils advocate, if we played another sydney team would we have got another 10,000\. I don't think so.

Reality is the club needs Campbelltown but I don't think there is a quick fix. The old "neglect" excuse is wearing thin though. The current admin cant do anything about that.

Firstly, I am disgusted with the crowd tonight. We have struggled at Campbelltown to pull a crowd for years. Yes it rained, but it stopped raining before the Under 20s. That is not an excuse.

Sunday footy against the Panthers in 2013 - Round 2, pulled a shocking crowd of 9,715.

Playing Sydney clubs is not the answer and won't change. Ticket prices may have something to do with it. $30 for GA is a joke for a start.

Grant Mayer said that the break even for Campbelltown is a crowd of 11,000\. We haven't reached that 3 times in the last 5 games played.

Tonight's crowd of 6,456 is the THIRD lowest at an NRL match played at Campbelltown. Not since R25, 2003 have we had a lower crowd (6,158).

**WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU GUYS TURN UP!**

LAST FIVE GAMES at CAMPBELLTOWN:
6,456 v Cowboys (R6 '14)
11,162 v Manly (R20 ’13)
7,833 v Raiders (R15 ’13)
11,547 v Broncos (R7 ’13)
9,715 v Penrith (R2 ’13)

Heard something completely different! Ah well, sorry about that.

The Campbelltown area has hundreds of local juniors, so much more than in the Balmain district. Why doesn't the club offer all Campbelltown area juniors a free family pass for the next Campbelltown home game? I am sure that it would be a great investment in increasing future patronage at Campbelltown.

100% right Yoss….
2013 played Brisbane and Canberra as "out of towners" for a crowd of 19300+
2013 played Penrith and Manly as "sydney teams" for a crowd of 20800+

2012 played Canberra and Cowboys as "out of towners" for a crowd of 27400+
2012 played Penrith and Parra as "sydney teams" for a crowd of 27200+

Campbelltowns argument does not hold weight. The scheduling makes bugger all difference to the crowd figures.

The Inner west is the heart of the club at the minute. Ashfield with all the money, Concord the training base and Leichhardt the crowds. The crowd figure tonight is pathetic and embarrassing or the club. Wests Tigers are a club that has become an inner west club, thats just the way it seems to be going.
