For those of you supporting Madge.
If he retains his job is there a point at which you will draw the line?
4 years of no improvement?
5 Years of no improvement?

At what point does the mythical all encompassing excuse of "the long game" end?

I'd sack him now but the club will give him 6 to 8 games next season.

Is that your inside gossip?

Well Foxsports reporting a rift between Maguire and Hartigan.

I wonder if the inability to get good player signings has created finger pointing between the 2?

If there's any truth to it it makes sense. Given our lack of ability in the player market, you have to question the negotiation strategy.

Our perceived inability to sign players, if it exists in reality, would be due to the lack of credibility of the club's decision makers. Not necessarily because of a single person working at the club, even if that person is the head coach. Richardson thought it was a good idea to move Madge on from Souths or was he told to move him on? Have Souths improved without Madge?

It's been said before, but I think a lot of the issue about not being able to sign top tier players, unless you pay overs, is our continued position on the table, which has been terrible.
But the junior development has merit and will hopefully be the answer?

Let's look at the basket case Broncos. They run last, lose Fifita and TPJ, yet at the end of this season you'd have to be a fully paid up Madge cult member to not admit they currently are playing decent footy and unlike us have something to build on.
They HAVE attracted a couple of big names and are more likely than not to be playing finals footy next year.
It doesn't take a mythical 10 year plan apparently.

I guess we will know the answer to that by the end of next season?

Brisbane are not competing with the Sydney market and are a one town team with a unlimited source of talent and resources to draw from. Most of the players they have now would walk straight into our team. Compare them to Melbourne them you have a reasonable arguement

Their biggest recruit did come from the Sydney market and was in demand.

Our best young recruits, Stefano and Laurie reportedly are Hartigan buys.

Classic rationalisation of our failure in order to deflect from our glaringly deficient coaching .

We believe in one Lord, Madge,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial
of one Being with the Father.

Not a deflection it's a fact. I don't believe Maguire or any one indivdual is responsible for our position or can singularly resolve it. If he gets sacked the next coach walks in with the same inexperienced spine, a club who managers avoid, and quality players don't want a bar of. Our best performers this year have been the young players signed to play under Maguire. You want change on the field then the perception of the club as being serious about change, instead of falling back on the bandaid solution of making the coach accountable for all failures needs to change.

Brisbane have recruited well at face value. There is no denying that.
Recruited two pivotal players from teams involved in the top 3 for two years running and also an adequate depth player from the 2021 minor premiers and 2020 premiers.

However. I have a laugh when anyone try’s to label the Brisbane Broncos a basket case. They may of had some struggles in recent years but this is a club regarded as successful as the Roosters since the start of the formation of the NRL in 1998. 3 premierships, 4 Gf appearances, 2 minor premierships and have made the finals 20 out of 24 times.

I think some of you Madge haters should do some research, We sacked Sheens and I understand why, but with forsight we should of probably persisted with him. Potter was not even given a proper go, then there was JT, who never bought anyone of note, his best signing was McQueen, and he totally stuffed our pathways,he also lost so much talent, as a supporter you were left shaking your head, and then we got Cleary, who overspent on old experienced players on long contracts , and it seemed at first after some early wins we struck Gold, however I think may have been the Benjie influence rather than Cleary, and we have only just cleaned the Cleary mess up this year. Last year Madge got the broom and swept alot of the old, and the deadwood out. This year half this team, have never played together, do you realise that! and were the most inexperienced team in the comp, experts had us favoured for wooden spoon, yet we will probably finish 11 ahead of a number of teams who have under performed alot worse than us. Madge has a good young team together, and the core of our future. If you think Madge is the problem in getting players here, its a problem we have had since Sheens left. I think there a small minority of supporters here that want Madge out, because he will show next year how wrong you guys are.

Well seeing Maguire has been coaching at the club for 3 seasons and the team still has no DEFENSIVE structure I have no doubt he will be gone by round 8 next season !

I think the biggest issue people have with Madge is the team is playing a rather unimaginative style. Despite this we have still scored more points this season with a round to play than every WT coach besides Tim Sheens and Wayne Pearce (519)

Look at the top sides, they have basically the same teams for a number of seasons, with our team , half our team were not in First grade or were not even here. there attack are defence will develope better with some time.
