Miller..Gone

Didnt someone call this after we beat Parra? that he would never see FG at wests again?

Good luck to the Milky bar kid …always looked good but I suppose it takes a lot of things to make the grade , enjoy the old dart good luck to him..

The only true halfback we have, and he gets all of four weeks

"He's a level-headed kid and he knows he needs to perform," Potter said yesterday.

**"He also needs to be allowed to make a few mistakes, because young players will make mistakes.** The main thing is that they learn from them and you can cope with that. He'll get a good run."

The coach also indicated Anasta - recently voted into the club's six-man leadership group - would provide direction for Miller, a former Roosters clubmate.
>
"Braith can provide some guidance for Jacob, his experience around the middle will be great for us," Potter said. -Mick Potter. Jan 08 2013

He'll get a good run.

Liar

He was allowed to make mistakes, he wasn't allowed to have almost no presence in 4 NRL games and 2 trials. Also, he supposedly has some attitude issues? That's 3 coaches he's fallen out of favour with. Roosters, Sheens and Potter.

He must know he hasn't got a future with us beyond this year if not he would of been signed and playing 1st grade , so good luck to the kid if he can secure himself a contract in England

Recently there were calls on this forum to try and lure walsh from the panthers.

penrith obviously penrith don't rate him because they signed soward to a four year deal.by most accounts, saints aren't all that upset that he has left.

williams was recently dropped from the canberra side.

so,
what we have is a few clubs who aren't happy with their halfback options.

the tigers need to develop their own- and choose the right time to debut them in first grade.
the timing has to be right - hopefully management gets it right.

Barring injury, our halves pairing for the rest of 2013 from round 10 will be Marshall and Anasta. Sironen will either become a centre or a number 14\. Robbie, Benji and
Braith will run the show, steer the ship etc.

grrrrrrr… slowly not liking the direction this club is going in.

Havent liked it for some years prmz….I thought we might see a different direction with the recruitment of potter....not so sure now

cool, no big loss. Clearly had some personal issues, ditched by sheens, roosters and now potter. Plus wasnt that great a half or rather didnt fit in well at the tigs as he isn't dominant enough to take pressure off benji

i was giving it a fresh start from this year.
still no official word from the club yet benji's deal seems almost done plus this.. just pathetic.

I'm hoping Miller doesn't go to England. if he has to leave WT, I'd like to see him get another gig at an NRL club. I still think he can become a regular first grader

errr…what? it's better not be a done deal!!! :imp: :brick:

A pity for the club and Miller that he did not make it.
As stated above, he was rejected by the Roosters, Sheens and Potter, which raises questions about him. However, Todd Payten seemed to be able to get the best out of him. Does this mean Todd has some coaching abilities that his previous coaches did not?

I am pretty sure he was 16 or 17 when roosters let go of him

I am pretty sure that Todd Payten is an excellent coach too. Players have been touting his coaching chops since he was halfway through his NRL career so he must have some obvious qualities.

I don't know if id put the blame soley on Potter. I'm sure he's taking advice from his coaching staff, McDonnell, maybe even the board, who knows? just seems suss that two coaches in succession are making the exact same mistakes. Who knows, maybe Sheens didn't have the amount of influence over the side we all though he did

A bit sad to see Miller leave but with the wraps that Brooks is picking up, I guess his future here was not long term

I would have liked to have seen him get a better go this year, however

With the wraps he's getting he's also going to get the boot laid into him if he doesn't do amazing work in his first 20 minutes of first grade.

Which would be par for the course, and I wonder if people will be calling for him to be dropped after 4 NRL games
