Mitch Moses Denied Release - Confirmed

I don't mind releasing Moses as long as we get a player swap deal with Parra. There was a suggestion by Kevin Walters on Fox that Clint Gutherson would be ideal swap for Moses.
Not sure Parra would agree but I'd take him. Can play anywhere in the backline and would fill in at 5/8 this year as we look for an experienced half to partner Brooks for next year.
The other player I'd take would be Nathan Brown. Wouldn't solve our lack of a half but he'd be good for us. Never understood why Potter (IIRC) let him go to Souths in the first place.

Off field issues Was why.

As for Moses will be gone this week I'm told, you will get an idea today when teams are named today if he will play this week or not though.

Also at the end of game yesterday he was asked "which dressing room are you going to" Moses replied "I have no idea" poor form from Moses on that one.

Personally I feel he shouldn't be let go. Talks that moeroa is the player parra are only willing to swap or give a financial compensation and that's not enough in my opinion

Well he got that right. He has no idea.

Since the drama erupted, when the Tigers pulled Moses’ offer, the star No. 6 has been instrumental in his side’s upset win over North Queensland in round six and last Sunday’s narrow loss to Parramatta.

He certainly was instrumental in our loss to Parra.

Bloody DT so many "an insider said" - name your source you cowards.

And The Daily Telegraph has learned they will only release Moses from his 2017 contract should they find a “goalkicking five-eighth’’ to replace him.

–------------

One well-placed source said: “Who weakens their own club to strengthen a rival club?

“If they let him go, the club has all but written off their season.”

I like the sounds of that. As Pascoe said a week or so ago - only let him go if the move enhances WT in some shape or form.

There's no way the Tigers are going to release Moses til Brooks is back. We're not always the brightest, but you don't lose both your starting halves to suit another club's plans.

Play the dogs with Littlejohn and Rankin? Yeah nah.

That's was my original take on it as well CZ

A few more details in the SMH, plus some very similar lines to the unnamed source…

They let Austin and Martin go to make way for the guy. He leaves the team out to dry for a year not signing , causing instability. Now he wants to leave instead of playing out his contract? I just cannot see how such selfishness is justified

Unfortunately it typifies many but not all of that generation. It is all about me

Shame our "captain" can't say something like this. Oh wait, he doesn't wanna be here either does he. Nevermind.

How many other players get mid-season transfers ? I think he has to play with us. He is the best option in that position that we have so he should stay.

THIS: "We hedge our bets on this bloke and let a talent like Te Marie Martin leave and let Austin leave whilst on contract because we thought Moses would develop into an elite player and this is the loyalty he shows?"

Loyalty??? Today???? Bhahahaha!!!!!

Every club and player now says "it's just business." Robbie Farah tried everything to be loyal but the club kicked him in the nuts. Why should ANY player show loyalty to a club who can't be loyal to it's long serving players who have helped them out when they have had salary cap issues.

Who wants to bet Chris Lawrence will be shown loyalty after re-negotiating the ridiculous contract the club gave him to help the club out with their cap issues???

As much as I hate what's going on, I don't blame "The Big 4" for looking out for themselves.

This could be the reason why these blokes are showing no loyalty to this club.

Even though they may have agreed with the "Farah" dismissal from the club, they didn't like it, and now they are doing the same to the club, because they look horrific on the field these days, there is something wrong….. :brick:

Moses is a grub, trying to walk out on your mates early in the season while the chips are down is low, honour your contract like a man and not a spoilt brat.

Not sure why there remains so much love for Austin and TMM? I watched the Raiders the other week and Austins positional play was awful and his hands really let him down. His defence was also poor. TMM has not had anywhere near the impact he had in the lower grades. Moses has looked the better prospect of the three by far. I was filthy we lost TMM but sometimes when you play cards luck just isn't on your side.

We need to alter our recruitment strategy and buy players that other clubs have developed and not put all our faith in potential, because even when you find it it can let you down…..as in Moses.

Moses wont be released ..we have no one better to replace him with…it's that simple

Runs in the family.

Has it been mentioned yet that Cleary confirmed last night there would be no release? Good stance by the coach. And if Moses thinks if he dogs it then we might give him his release, then the club needs to call his bluff and drop him. He stays a tiger till the end of the season, regardless of which grade he plays.

I hear Cleary is going to try and get him to stay,Tedesco/Raiders scenario.

Still a couple of days by my reckoning and as I have stated here, I don't think what we have been hearing is so much Mitch, more so his uncle/s through and aside. Backflip on two contracts to leave in consecutive years, why not and hope this time he tells them to look after his interests, not theirs or what they think his should be.
