I hope our club is watching and keeping in touch with Gutho. He does not deserve to be moved to the wing so that Moses can play.

Yep French has speed to burn on the wing. He is too small for fullback.

Was watching on the coach with Sterlo and he bought up the issue of what to do once Norman came back. I think its fair to say he isnt convinced by Moses he didnt think French was suited so much to the wing because of defensive structures. Sounded like he was leaning towards leaving Gutho at 6 French at the back and wasnt sure what to do with Moses, but conceded Moses is likely to stay at 6 due to the long term goals of Parra.

He'll stay at 6 for now but once he puts them at risk of missing the finals they will drop him without blinking an eye. Parra have shown in the past they are willing to play underperforming players in reserve grade regardless of the $$ they are on.

Grant Mayer decided to pay both of them 600k for this year. Then Jason Taylor decided that no matter how bad they played they would both be in the team every week.

The trouble was, that not only were we willing to pay them big dollars, plenty of other clubs were to, basically all based on the hype. So where was the hype coming from?? The media jumped on them from day one, Brooks was the next Johns and Thurston was in danger of being lapped by Moses!!! Bit like the stock markets, sow the right seeds and crazy things can happen.

What I find amazing is now after three years people are still buying the hype and now paying for the hype

I also find that the most unbelievable part.. Without any evidence over that time, they still feel like Moses is the next JT. It's as if everyone thinks that somehow their performances are solely the Tigers fault, and that in the "right" team Moses will become the superstar he was destined to be.. Maybe they really do think that? Good luck then.. Lol

Good post….I think Moses although comes across as a very confident young man, I get the feeling he is mentally fragile and that is half his problem. Anyway as you said the weight of expectations is going to be massive over the few years, it will either make him or destroy him

I know that in chess some players have permanent blind spots, some players never conquer the kwirky manoeuvres of the knight. So Mitch is either permanently disabled in defence (mindwise) or has been poorly trained or refuses to listen and learn. As there are other several other players in Tigers defence similarly afflicted, as only outsiders we can't be sure where the problem lies.

Really think his Uncles play a big part in his problems, particularly Isaac and sympathise with him in his area. When he is settled and able to just play footy like he was after his uncle had him sign with the chooks before reneging and taking the up the option with us. He shone when settled, going on to be our player of the year on the back of that.

That said, very disappointed in the way things evolved this season.

Really the bottom line with Moses is, he is going to be a good NRL playmaker and in a team like Parra who are on the rise should go okay and his defensive issues should not be such a issue. The big question is, will he be a great player, because that is what he is being paid and that is what the media are telling us and I am doubtful he will ever get there, but who knows he might actually grow up a little and start to blitz it.

From a Tigers point of view I am happy to see what Reynolds can do over the next few years being a completely different style of footballer to Moses

I stood next to mMoses at the Cowboys trial this year as he spoke to fans and signed autographs. He and Brooksie were injured but there for some time after the game.

My gut reaction from Moses was he had a forced confidence, not a relaxed confidence. He seemed trying to be too nonchalant, too cool. At least with Brooksie, you can see him hesitate and deliberate when he speaks in public. Moses gave really quick and shallow responses to people.

There is another possibility that you havent considered in your thoughtful post. He is just gutless and wont put himself in harms way in the tough moments. Thats what it is for me and and that is unforgiveable on a football field. Moltzenesque.

Seems like he's become something of a target these last few weeks, or maybe I'm just noticing more and enjoying the heavy hits he seems to be regularly copping
