Moltzen at Fullback

If anyone needs a reason to wonder why Moltzen is NOT a Fullback Just replay the everytime they put a bomb at back he would not attack ball and in one case when we had Titans on toast he did not even try and catch it . I mentioned in a another thread that we would miss MacKinnon if he did not play tonight I think that was pretty spot on No 2nd phase tonight .

Not a fullback. Hes a five eigth as hes more of just a runner as opposed to an organising half. At us he can play half as we have farah and marshall.

Hed be best used off the bench coming on after 30 and just coming on at lock and getting into dummy half for 20 mins and trying to make some yards. Unfortunately we dont have much go forward so id ont no if thatd even work for us

He has never been a fullback. Why he keeps being played there I'll never know.

If Sheens and Marshall insist thats his best position then I fear for the kids future at this club.

Well i just saw Zilman's 1st try and Tim trying to bat the ball over the deadball line wasn't the best move bud…

His effort tonight defusing kicks was pathetic.

This "Moltzen is too talented to leave out of the side so he should play fullback" garbage is pathetic.

Fullback is not a position you can just throw somebody into and hope for the best, most certainly not a player who is scared of contact.

Moltz was woeful tonight. The fullback experiment - which i supported - must come to an end.

On a bright note, i still think miller is the most promising 7 we have had since Prince. He didnt let amyone down tonight.

Timid. That's the nicest thing I could say about moltzens effort tonight.

It's amazing to think people have been bagging wade mckinnons performance this year. Would have given my left nut to have him out there tonight.

Why didn't Sheens play Mitch Brown at fullback? Thought he was great last year when McKinnon was out injured.

Probably because of the injuries to the 3/4 line.
No Tuqiri, Lawrence, Daniella and Ryan.

Sheens has been heard saying that Moltzen would make a good halfback but a great fullback. I don't know what training drills we do for fullback, but they are severely flawed if Moltzen excels to greatness in them.

Garentee he leaves him at fullback if McKinnon is still out, as much as I see your point its a stupid move to make massive reshuffling of a side after one performance.

sheens has no clue thats why, brown to fb and have matt ryan in the centres would have been 100 times better

The problem is that the two most influential people in the team (Sheens and Marshall) keep saying that he is or will be a great full back. He has never shown the attributes for the position in the MANY attempts he has had.

He is a ball runner with great hands. He is not a 'put you body on the line and get smashed' bomb diffuser.

As all of the top sides have great kickers, it is sheer madness to have him there. Macca and Brown have the right stuff for this position.
