Moltzen Staying Or Going

Miller will make a good 7 next year.

Whilst I don't doubt Miller's talent, it would be nice to start the new season with a proper, experienced first grade halfback for once.

What happened when Luke Lewis and Shane Elford got out of their contracts? How did the clubs they signed for allow this to happen and why? Could the same be happening here perhaps?

Good point, Samuelcon, but that kind of thing is not real ethical, imo. I think he should honour his newly signed contract - Saints would be spewing if he reneged on it now.

**Anyway, if he stayed with us, he would be playing fullback** and we would still need a half.

maybe, maybe not

After finally discovering a good 1,6,7,9 combination which we've lacked for years, losing both our 1 & 7 will be devastating next year… Combinations take time and all the hard work for the last 3 years would've been wasted. If we can at least keep Moltzen in the mix and add Miller I'd be a whole lot more confident for 2012.

lewis had never actually signed. souffs were stupid enough to announce the signing before it had actually happened. it was only a verbal agreement

elford basicaly begged to stay and wasnt nearly as high profile a signing as moltzen was, who was signed to replace a state of origin player

this rumour was always going to happen however i think its 1000/1\. sheens sees moltzen as a fullback anyway so the lui situation wont do much.

Does anybody think Sheens is trying to get rid of the mucking around in the team? By Signing Blair etc..
If so i doubt he will come back.. He was Benjis best mate but in saying that most best mates muck around..

ahhhh it finally starts
where there is smoke there is fire

As one of his biggest fans, I am a firm believer that contracts should be honoured

The circumstances around his signing with St George aside, IF (and that's a big if) he stays I'd only want it if Sheens cemented his position. No more mucking around, either play him at 7 or fullback

Why go and play somewhere that you don't want to? Why would a club want a player that doesn't really want to play with them? If given the chance he should stay where he is happiest.

NRL doesn't work like that, behind the scenes of all the gloss and glamor it can be quite a ruthless business and unfortunately its not like under 10's and your free to play where you are happiest.

I'm sure Moltzen will do the right thing and honor his commitment to St. George.

I believe there is a deadline up until which you can reneg on deals. Like Shane Elford and Luke Lewis have done previously. Coincidently both with the Rabbitohs.

I believe thats the old anti-tampering deadline, players can agree to terms but clubs can't officially lodge the contract with the NRL until after June 30th.

Maybe he can sit out the season as Gordon Tallis did.

,let him go and hope he doesn't play against us.

Cheer for him when he is playing other teams.

INTERESTING.

Hopefully some action is taken behind the scenes and Moltzen is a Tiger next year.
Who cares about St Lame !

I think a few people are looking at the Lui situation and putting two and two together, unfortnately I think they are coming up 5!

There's no way the Dragons will let him change his mind given Boyd's move to the Knights.

While I doubt he will get out of his contract, he might of heard they have another Fullback coming in 2013 so he wants out???

Timmy Choo Shoes is a bit touchy about being a bench player!!!

Exiting the contract with the Dragons is not the problem. Both parties can agree to dissolve the contract.

The elephant in the room is getting another pre-nup with Benji. Benji may not take him back now.

Can't believe it's taken this long for the rumour to start… In any case, Moltzen should honour his contract and go to the Dragons. I highly doubt the Dragons will release him, particularly after the stink that was kicked up about his signing.

And I'm certain that if Sheens got Moltzen back on his roster next year and Lui's contract was terminated, chances are he'd probably start him at fullback.

Thats the way i was thinking as well.I would not want a player that really does'nt have his heart in it.
Its probably not the best look but its happened before & hopefully for our sake it happens again with moltz

Wonder how it works.

Humpries "hey dousty, long time no speak, remember how I flamed you in the press after you signed Timmy, how about you give him back to us, thanks mate"

Peter Doust "Good idea Stave, we have won far to many games lately, you guys look a bit weak at half, why dont you take Hornby as well, hell we'll even carry it in our salary cap, hope that helps"

Doust isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, if it were to go down, that's probably how it'd play out…

Who knows what will happen here, it wouldnt surprise me to see Moltzen back @ Wests & if it does happen that will keep Benji & Beau happy.
