MOLTZEN? Thread

I enjoyed watching Timmy play last night … Few mistakes still there it otherwise I thought he went well.
Maybe the confidence is starting to come back.

Real mixed bag tonight from Tim I'll give him a pass for his performance and will lay off him

Maybe Sheens will get some ideas about him playing at 6 , with Benji at 7

Great effort.

If he can put in like that every week I am happy with him staying where he is failing some sort of calaclysmic series of stuff ups

He was good tonight , any criticism is unfair.

He was better then the usual tripe he serves up. However criticism for allowing bombs to bounce is fair imo

It is fair if you acknowledge the quality of the bombs put up and the fact that he took a few to make up for the ones he he let go

Anyone who thinks he had a bad game is just defending themselves from the last few previous weeks saying he had nothing to offer and to drop him

Read my op. better then usual. And the bombs in question were not outstanding. Credit where it's due his performance was an improvement over previous weeks. But letting bombs bounce is garbage.

Moltzen struggles against the bombs but so do our whole back three. Ryan has had his fair share of mishaps under the bomb this year but none brings that up.

The fact is with the way the current side is, and the ineptitude of our outside backs, Moltzen is one of the key figures in the team whether you like it or not. You can only have so many houdinis who try hard like Ayshford, Ryan, Reddy, Fulton, Heighno etc but have no impact. You need match winners in the team and even if they can lose you a game, you need these players in your team.

This is pretty close to correct.

Moltzen is a match winner. Yes he is pretty ordinary when it comes to catching bombs and personally I think he would be better off being played at 6 however he has speed and evasiveness. Very few players in the comp have that level of ability. As you state we also do not have a winger who is great at catching the high ball either.

Ryan & Fulton though have been great players for us this year. Ayshford isn't bad. Reddy is in the same boat. Heighno has been a great player for us although I think his time is about to be up.

Mate that's harsh on Ryan he won the match with his try from nothing on friday which was just pure skill on his behalf. As for Moltzen I think he is great when he has the ball, solid enough for a little bloke in defence just struggles with the bombs. Where is Garry jack or Timmy brasher being brought in to help him. I think we struggle a bit by no outside backs in the coaching team- sheens, georgallis, sandals -2propps and a hooker/half
