Momorovski wants out

Momo is gone guys . Whether you agree with it or not , he’s not a starter , and he’s off to the riff , to probably start , as Naden is out indefinitely, and it’s burton who’s the dogs player starting in the centre’s , with the last dean whare good game was against us 2 years ago when he tortured us .
It sux I know losing a depth player who we all love , but that’s the game . We are getting out fullback of the future in return apparently . Not this year IMO , that will be mbye , but definitely next year .

I genuinely dont get the love of some here for Momers. I dont dislike him and I think he is a solid first grade player in the mold of Shane Elford but Ive never seen him do anything impressive.

His fans here regularly quote his try scoring strike rate, but they are all catch and crash tries, I cant remember him beating a player.

I mean if you literally watched any of his 2019 tries like ive posted video clips numerous times in this thread you would see that barely any are “catch and crash” like you said

But his haters love to ignore that of course

No worries, post them up again

I can’t be bothered proving obvious trolls wrong.

Obvious trolls? I said he is a good solid player, hardly trolling. You said you had proof I was wrong and that most of his tries were not short range.

Only one of us is not backing up his words.

You said that most of his tries he barely beat one player...fairly inaccurate, watch the tries from the dogs game onwards and you’ll be pleasantly surprised

I dont have time to trawl through videos, Im relying on my memory of his play. You are welcome to post them up.

There is a difference between crashing through a flat defence 5 -10m out and actually beating a player.

I will say he used good footwork to step inside players to score his tries. He is a decent finisher, but believe we need more in that position and think we have players that play similar to him but are better.

I would ask anyone on this forum to come up with 3 wests tigers names in our 20 year history

I would ask any forum member to come up with the names of 3 past or present players for our club who have scored tries in 75% of games played (anywhere)
14 from 19 in Nrl
1 from one playing for the prime ministers 13

Sure like many have suggested he is not the world's best player
Maybe not even in our top 20
But Paul has the uncanny ability to put himself in the right spot at the right time
He has the ability to sniff out a try
You don't score 15 try's in 20 games in the worlds best competition by fluke
Wests tigers have had 236 players at our club and only one player has equaled that record
And the is Marika Korobetti
Now let that sink in a little
One player in 236
And Marika Korobetti
And what's more Marika only score 12 tries from 16 games for us
Every player to pull on our jersey has had the same opportunities
But Momorovski has taken those opportunities more than any other player in our history as far as tries v games played
The point IMO is Paul is a keeper
He can do a good job for us
And no one can discount the facts
It is the spines position to help create tries
Its players like Paul that finish them
And although not the best goal kicker in our team, he is a handy back up to have
I dont see to many players putting their hand up for that roll

Now after sticking up for Paul, should we be able to upgrade Paul in a position of need then I am all for it
Its just like a game of chess
Sometimes you have to sacrifice a pawn / player for the good of your own game

If we have the opportunity to keep Paul then I am all for it
But let's not give a release without a class replacement

Here’s what I heard today: Pathers will release Laurie in a player swap but want the Tigers to pay the difference. Momo didn’t ask for a release as such but put his hand up for the opportunity. Tigers said no because A, they want to keep Momo and B, they would be paying Laurie his contract offer plus Momo’s contract and have decided that’s a bit too expensive. Tigers have offered Cini because his development contract makeS it a cheaper negotiation. The talks continue but it seems like a done deal, just the details need to be worked out

Which one is a done deal ? Momo or Cini?

It could be anyone, it’s still in negotiation.

Hardly a done deal then.

Keeping Momo and swapping Cini for Laurie is very sensible and nobody loses.Momo is still under contract and if he has a decent year(which i expect)he can be upgraded later this year

I thought Laurie was on a development contract, just like Cini, for 2021?So nhes not gonna breal the bank to bring him over
I think we shld keep Momo too,as we know hes a NRL centre who will turn up every week.
Cini...never seen him play so cant comment like most of us
As for Laurie..an 83kg fullback who has played 3 NRL games doesnt sound like a robust must get early solution to our fullback problem tbh

Cini was development last year, upgraded to NRL 2021. Might not be big $$$ but is part of the top 30

Same size as Paps, similar play style too from what I've seen.

Yep...but Paps is a one in a decade....!
Coach has seen enuff to hire him,so issue is timing

I'm just saying size isn't an issue, there's always been small guys who are successful.

Laurie 181cm and 1kg heavier then Paps and still filling out,and Billy the previous no 1and one of the greats was an ex jockey.Always looking for nagatives ?

On SEN this morning Jimmy Smith said that it is not true that Tigers have said no to Momers leaving. He said the truth is that Momers and Penrith are still negotiating contract terms with length of contract the issue. Sounds like a done deal.

Smith is mates with someone in the club and generally has good Tigers intel.

There is a difference between crashing through a flat defence 5 -10m out and actually beating a player.

I will say he used good footwork to step inside players to score his tries. He is a decent finisher, but believe we need more in that position and think we have players that play similar to him but are better.

Same size as Paps, similar play style too from what I've seen.

Yep...but Paps is a one in a decade....!
Coach has seen enuff to hire him,so issue is timing

Same decade as Teddy, now maybe 3 in the decade ?

If he can't get regular playing time at the Tigers, where exactly does he think he can?

Penriff are thinking of using him as back up to their injury prone fullback Edwards .. if they move Crichton to fullback if Edwards gets injured they will need a ready to fit in centre and this is where Momo's comes in .. but realistically, he'll still be warming the benches at Penriff .. !!

Now that we have jacked up the price for Crichton, Penriff's piggy bank will be a lot less (hahaha .. well played Tigers) they might have to release Laurie earlier then they expected .. so a swap with Momo's and Laurie might be their only escape .. !! We need to use this release wisely and get what WE want .. !!

Maybe Momo wants to go to the Dogs.

No upside to that for us. No Laurie, no swap, no dough no nothing.

People are assuming the Pamfers - not necessarily.

The only thing, we get out of him leaving - is loosing a good centre. Yes, a good centre.

Its weird that we heard which club he wants to be released to .. ?? (or have we heard ?) So far its Penriff, Dogs and now the Storm .. ?? So where does he want to be released to .. ??

I genuinely dont get the love of some here for Momers. I dont dislike him and I think he is a solid first grade player in the mold of Shane Elford but Ive never seen him do anything impressive.

His fans here regularly quote his try scoring strike rate, but they are all catch and crash tries, I cant remember him beating a player.

He is a good solid player but I think he has shown enough to know that he is VERY consistent, because what you see is what you get. This IS his ceiling.

BJ & JTJ may not be consistent but their ceiling is MUCH higher than Momers. Talau looks raw but I think he has natural talents (mostly size) that Momers doesnt have .

IMO I'd put Momo on a par with Talau.....and we have Talau.

I wouldnt be upset if we traded him for a Laurie for example, but he does have enough that he would be one of those players I watch nervously in another clubs colours wondering if we let one get away.

Well, what can you say about ignorance.

If you didn't see the 3-4 players he beat to score nearly all of his tries what can any of us do to explain it to you. He scored tries that no one else in our backline could have at that time. Enough said.

If you want to talk about catch and crash tries inflating stats then Nof is your man.

That’s just not true mate. Have a look at Nof’s tries from last year. There’s a high percentage of intercepts (showing vision) and tries from kicks (good anticipation), and he probably had more try assists than some play makers did. I’d challenge someone to put up some highlights of Momo doing anything other than making a couple of cover defenders (usually at full speed and off balance) miss. IMO He’s solid without being special.

Good stuff. Hopefully can be finalised by next week

It certainly is a case of going backwards a step to go two step forwards in the future.
Momo’s is a solid first grader. He has that deceptive footwork that works at times but it can’t always be relied on. Still need strength and more importantly speed in our 3/4s Jimmy Robert’s has that in spade. And will finish a lot more half tries that Momo’s can ‘providing he stays fit’ it’s great to have footwork but the player also needs other attributes. I like momo’s and in a team like the Panthers he will more than fit in too their right hand side with the speedy stains and busting Martin either side.
With us however he doesn’t displace either of our two centres because unfortunately the only chance we have is if we have a backline of incredibly talented athletes. Solids wouldn’t cut it unfortunately.
Throwing Laurie to the deep end might a year early might just be the best thing for us this year. It’s not as though we don’t have MBye as cover and even the possibility of having MBye start the year to allow Laurie to warm his way into the side.

Momirovski is a footballers' footballer. He has the footballing smarts and makes full use of his talents. If he continues to work on his goalkicking he will become one of the first picked for whatever team he selects. Our issue at WTs is that the winger outside of him lacks genuine pace over the 100m. Put Staines outside of him and watch thst combination fire.

Geeez thats very tough on Nof.... you must be watching a different game than me as Nof has to work for most of his tries.

Kinda my point above but in a round about way. Less of an athlete more of a footballer.

Gets to line up in a team that could potentially win a comp instead of being backup in a team that will struggle to make the 8, wish him well

Gee we attract media interest over low level stories. Players leave mid contract all the time with minimal fuss but this is a full length story?
I don't mind him as a player but even before he left he was hardly first picked. What did he play? 10 games in 2019?
