WESTS Tigers bench forward Junior Moors has found a home at the club and is hopeful of re-signing for next season.
Moors joined the Tigers in 2010 after making his NRL debut for Penrith in 2007.
Having spent three seasons at the club and off contract at the end of the year, Moors is eager to extend his stay.
“I’m not contracted with anyone at the moment,” Moors said.
“I’m talking to the club and talking to a few so we’ll just see how things go.
“That would be great (to stay), the missus is pretty settled in the area and I’m happy here with the boys, they’re all a good bunch of blokes so it would be good to stay.”
Tipping the scales at 113kg, the 26-year-old credits Keith Galloway and Adam Blair as two people who have helped him adjust to the NRL.
“Just being switched on not just here at the club but when you go home, being professional in everything I do,” he said.
“Food, sleep and stuff like that.
"It’s something I have struggled with over the last couple of years, keeping my weight down but it’s been good this year.”
Moors has played 11 first-grade games this year and is expected to be named on the bench for Friday night’s match against the first placed Canterbury Bulldogs.
With almost 50 first grade games to his name, Moors has never taken part in a finals series, something he is hopful of accomplishing this year.
“I’m starting to feel more comfortable in the team now,” he said.
“I’m just worrying about trying to make the finals now, not worrying about being up and down, just trying to string a few games together.
“I’m excited about the finals.
“I just want to keep doing my job for the team.
“Hopefully we get there and I’ll be a part of it.”
In eighth place on the ladder, the Tigers have a two point buffer over ninth spot with Saturday’s win over St George Illawarra.
With three rounds remaining in the reguar season, the Tigers must face the Bulldogs, Roosters and Storm to complete the regular season.
With their place in the finals not yet cemented, Moors says they must continue to build on their last two wins and continue gaining momentum.
“We can't be complacent,” he said.
“We cant think about the buffer, we ned to keep getting the wins and not worry about that last win and trying to scrape in.
"We need to continue the form.”
