Sad isn't it. It used to be such a family oriented forum. I blame Robbie and JT for it's disintegration. :astonished:

Steve I'm talking financially , how we are perceived by possible sponsors , possible Third party benefactors , back ending contracts , old boys club , having one home ground , how we are perceived by possible players in the player market . etc etc etc

I think that this happens in all sorts of clubs.

@happy tiger said:
When clubs like Cronulla ,Parra and Canberra quite easily out play us on player market you have to ask why ??

I think that clubs like this show how things don't have to be so good to be able to sign players.

I think it comes down to simply making the right recruitment and retention decisions. If we get a good team on the park and win games none of this talk matters. It doesn't matter for other clubs so I fail to see why we are so different.

You'd have to agree that we are consistently winning the wooden spoon as far as recruitment ,retention, having one home ground , how we are perceived by players in the player market

That impacts majorly on how we are going on field You can't just rely on your junior program , no matter how good it is

I don't think we are that bad. I think that recruitment and retention has been poor but more so that we don't appear to buy and retain based on smart decisions. I agree that we can't rely on our junior programme.

I think this year though for instance we have bought reasonably well. Losing Taupau is not good but at the same time we shouldn't pay overs. I don't think Ballin is a good recruit because I think we have a good set of hookers in Farah and Cherrington.

Thanks for clearing that up for me….

You've noted everything except why no other club wants the current NSW Origin on their books for free.... FREE!!
?????

I have also followed this club for a time, Probably not as long as you - But a time no less...
I have seen many a club legend come... And go - For one reason or another!!
I've not seen one of them carry themselves over the situation like this.

I'm not a supporter of the coach, I support the club and the players.
IN THAT ORDER!!
- My club decides my coach... I can live with that.

We have been abysmal for years... We've had 3.5/16 acceptable seasons (2009 we were a little unlucky). If nothing changes, We will be abysmal until the end of my days.
We are the only club in the NRL where the players seem to run the club.
We have complained about our walk up starters "In The Club" for years, despite form - That's now changing.

All this may be the wrong road, In 2 years we'll know...
All I know is the old way wasn't working - In Life, No Matter what you are doing if it's not working you need to try something new, You need to make changes, With change comes sacrifice.
At worst we'll be exactly where we have been for more than 80% of our existence....
Ending the season in August....

I will certainly find it easier supporting a losing team that is actually trying to change and trying to turn it around. Rather than one who runs out the same players in the same positions year after year with not a care in the world and no pressure on their position.

And for the record, I've personally achieved quite a few things in my years of note that have been recognised in more than one field. And I'm not done yet....
Who knows, Maybe this old keyboard here will make me a superstar!!

Furthermore, I've been in my Industries a lot longer than Robbie Farah has and I've NEVER been asked to look elsewhere.....

Batboy , they will Not get him for free, or even close to that
We will still be playing a big bit of his contract, yes
But as a NSW player. A club woud be unable to register him if they were getting him at too low a price.
I'm not sure exactly what the Cap rules are on that, but it's already been mentioned in the press at least a couple of times.
If anyone goes know the rules regarding that , they may be able to enlighten us all on that.

Well, with the news of slammin Sam coming back, it shows that there was at least one club with money. You'd probably say that that money was always there for Sam, and you are probably right, but are we going to pretend that not 1 of the other 14 clubs showed no interest due to monetary reasons? Come on. Manly, Newcastle and the Titans are 3 teams i can think of off the top of my head. At the very least i'm sure a couple of clubs would have tried to offload 1 or 2 players like Souths are trying to do with Dylan Walker because of Burgess, to do anything they can to have the NSW hooker. Not sure how you can look at it and not even entertain that his character might have something to do with why not 1 club came knocking. Plus, no clubs wanting him would make it easier for Farah to gain sympathy by saying how much he loves the club, because he has no choice to stay. I honestly don't think he would risk missing out on Origin by playing NSW cup. Also, why would he be so desperate to stay at a club run by someone supposedly as incompetent as JT? I love how all JT's baggers ignore the fact that despite all this, Farah is desperate to stay at the club he coaches. Wouldn't he be out the door first chance he got?

I think u will find that farah is just waiting six weeks into the season for JT to be given the boot, and cleary to be signed on!
Again, another incompetent move by Taylor, seriously they wanted tapau bad and we could have chosen nearly anyone in their team as a trade, yet Taylor picks a 90 year old hooker with a busted ACL !!
Top move Taylor, we are the laughing stock of the NRL….

As for you never being told to move on from a place where you worked.
Have you ever been given a multi million deal that was too long ?? and then had a person put in charge Who has a giant inferiority complexand and a record of blowups in teams that he's been involved in, who wants to get rid of of you,(One of the few people around your department who can be relied on to give everything to his job and team mates.). Your attempt at sarcasm is extremely floored, it's what most people with credibility do when they have a crap boss, just wait them out they generally hang themselves with their own noose…
Or do you just quit and run, in the same situation?

If Robbie is just hanging around to see Jason Taylor fail, will he do the same as last year and put in for a few games for the Tigers and give his all for the SOO, so that Taylor fails for sure?

Farah has put in for WTs more times than you have had hot dinners . Questioning his commitment to the club is plainly ridiculous. Especially during last season. Farah missed games after the SOOSeries yes. But the missed games weren't caused by injuries
From SOO,
He played for the club with a injured shoulder when he could have sat back and had the weeks rest, then walked back into the next Origin game.
Instead he played for the club, and during that game sustained the broken hand.
The reason that he missed the Origin was that he "put in for the club".
I have no problem if you want to bash Farah, just try using facts .
The accusation that you use has been answered on other occasions on this forum, and using it all over again just shows your ignorance of the real facts.
If all he cared about was SOO , then he wouldn't have risked an injury by playing for the club

Is there any reason why people are willing to give JT an open cheque book besides having the same coach for the sake of it? Or because Brisn Smith said so? After what's a contract or loyalty mean these days?

We will certainly revisit JTs tenure at the end of 2016.. It will be interesting, especially for JTs band wagon cheer leading crew on the ss titanic

So, You've never heard of someone trying to get someone sacked because of reasons other than they were not performing even when they ARE doing their job well, and their performance is good .Jeez you've led a sheltered life, it goes on every day.

From reasons of jealousy , incompetency , or even simple dislike, among a myriad of other reasons. You must work in Disneyland , where all is sweet and nice
Most of those mentioned reasons probably apply to Taylor, especially incompetence.
The bigger the business and the more money involved, the more likely someone is trying to knife someone.

Unfortunately then, we are all on the SS Titanic.

So instead of pushing your own hate JT agenda, maybe you should hope (like a good Tigers supporter) that the club goes well in 2016 and makes the eight.

I think that would be a better result for the Club, members, players, supporters etc. than the Tigers going down the drain just so you and a few mates can have a laugh, a few beers and say "I told you so".
