Moses Suli

I do believe that I started a thread a few rounds into last comp about Suli's attitude and was promptly shot down about it….. disappointed that I was right....which is usually a rare occurrence....

But fair play to management in making sure that no player is bigger than the team

Great call by the Tigers. I saw suli at concord a month ago and he didn't look good. Put on a bunch of weight and stuck in rehab.

We know now that he probably would have jumped ship at the end of his contract. So what's the point in paying top dollar for 'potential' if it's going to walk out the door and only has a max of season and a half left (once his injury healed) . Let alone the negative effect it would have on the rest of the team.

We can get far better bang for our buck.

Were still building. Let's frontload and get those 2 to 3 quality players we need to win the GF by 2020!.. Even that's assuming lolo and Brooks don't step up. If they do, we might even be able to go silly and stack the bench with internationals.

There's no good players on the market for 2018 left without someone jumping ship.

Noted this above ^

You can't justify keeping a lazy kid with a poor attitude, that sleeps in cars, refuses to look after himself and gets into bar fights.

But now it leaves us very light on for centres. We've got a tonne of average wingers but really only 2 centres on the books. Need another one asap.

And the Dogs have apparently heavily backended Suli's contract. That's how they could suddenly afford to sign him

Another one with potential just throwing it away, wonder if it had much to do with getting such a good contract at such an early age. You would think with a club showing that much belief in you that you would work hard but I guess when it all comes easy at such an early age you think you can just put cruise control on.

I am glad the club has been very transparent with this and it seems they did everything they could to help him. If everything is true its a very good move by the club and sets a good example early.

He could easily bounce back from this but I am glad it is somewhere else.

he is nothing like huth

huth had it hard in his younger years with injuries and it has obviously shaped him to be the hard worker we know him as

I wonder if this is why the dogs released Brenko Lee?
This sounds like a move to the dogs might have been on the cards for along time.

Disappointing. However if the rumors about his weight are true, the club had no choice. Cleary and Pascoe are smart operators. They would not have made this decision if there wasn’t a good reason.

Kahu..Moses..Suli…and am sure there are others who feel were soft touches if a talented young player wishes to break contract to go to a stronger club.Suli is yet another bad precedent.
Sure, each case had merit, but there is a clear pattern for those who wanna bail out early ,and sooner rather than later were gonna have to dig our heels in & demonstrate we're not patsys ,even if theres short term pain

i heard on the side that suli wanted out and that the weight and pure attitude was all part of the plan so he could leave, i want to ask a few friends i know who work at the dogs how true this is, will let the forum know if i get any mail.

both lost a haircut bet?

I did say in another thread, there is a new era dawning at the Tigers, this is the first of many changes for the better happening…performance on field will only be matched with performance off field...

It is pleasant to see a firm stance taken by our coach and being backed up by the management..

we are starting to look very much proffessional in all aspects of the club.....a very good look all around..
