I didn't miss damon to be honest. I own the previous 3 bourne films on blu-ray and i loved damon's performance in them, but jeremy renner does an excellent job as aaron cross. He's a more intense character, but he knows where he came from and why he signed up for the Outcome program.

Anyone caught 'Cabin in the woods' yet?

Thought it was, surprisingly, very good. Set up as a generic teen horror movie, i.e. young people head into the woods for a break and bad things happen to them, seen it all before….right?

No way. There is a heap going on in this flick that you wouldnt see coming in your most vivid dreams. Very clever, very original. One of those ones where the less you know about it going in the better the experience will be for you.

Recommended for those who love horror movies and appreciate satire.

Watched it over the weekend actually and I agree with you stryker. Previews I had previously seen suggested it was just another zombie flick…and then you see the start of the film and think "nope, something different is bound to unfold here". Very well done and I also enjoyed the ending.

On another topic, I saw Expendables 2 today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it better than the first with the action scenes bigger and better executed, and the acting dialogue was deliberately cheesy, which works because the entire cast are having fun with the movie and that's pretty much how the audience took it. Stallone gets the most screen time of course, followed by Jason Statham, but I thought Dolph Lundgren had some good moments, as did Jean Claude Van Damme who plays a bad guy convincingly. Liam Hemsworth is also effective.

Jet Li doesn't feature much while Terry Crews and Randy Couture don't have a whole lot to work with. Arnie, Bruce Willis and Chuck Norris all more or less have cameo roles again, but a bigger than last time, while Scott Adkins who plays Van Damme's right hand man is underused. If no one is familiar with Adkins, check out Undisputed 2 and 3, which are two of the best western martial arts films in years. Adkins is an actor on the rise with a role in Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty which focuses on the hunt, and ultimately the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Given she won multiple Oscar's for The Hurt Locker, her next film should be one to watch.

Saw Mel Gibsons new one this arvo….Get the Gringo. Good fun movie. Mel plays a character similar to the one he played in Payback. Hard arsed criminal with a heart of gold.....

It is set in a Mexican prison...pretty damned good.

There's a new Bruce Willis movie coming out called Looper which I wouldn't mind seeing. Sorry I can't paste link on Roarfeed from phone.

Saw Resident Evil 5 yesterday. This film, for what it was, was alright I thought. Action scenes were well executed and the special effects were also excellent. Milla Jovovich looks as hot as ever while the rest of the cast are just there for fill-in. I liked the ending which sets the whole series up for a conclusion.

Several films coming out in October which I'm looking forward to, the first is Taken 2, then there's the re-boot of Dredd which looks a hell of a lot better than Stallone's version, and End of Watch which looks like one hell of a heart stopper with Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena playing uniform cops in south central LA who get marked for death.

I know it's not a movie but has anyone seen the tv series by HBO Boardwalk Empire? Iv'e seen some commercials on SBS & Foxtel for it & this show looks worth watching.

Yeah I have seen the first 2 seasons of it. It is pretty good, albeit a tad slow, the acting spot on and the sets/costumes etc look very realistic for that period in time. It is also pretty brutal with its violence. Steve Buscemi who plays the bloke who controls Atlantic City - Nucky Thompson is superb. It also features support charcters such as Al Capone which is interesting. Definitely worth a go.

Cheers Stryker, Foxtel is showing season 3 on showtime starting September 19 if you've got it.

Saw Dredd 3D last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. No comparison to the dribble Stallone starred in back in the mid 90's. This one was much darker, dirtier and violent and Karl Urban plays the role of Dredd very well. The slo-mo effects shots are also excellent. It's just a shame that despite the solid reviews it has not performed well at the box office. Could end up being a bit of cult hit when it hits blu-ray hopefully.

Do yourselves a favour and go and see Lawless. Tom Hardy has instantly become my new favourite actor and possibly the most badass dude in current film.

Loved the entire move from start to finish.

Anyone with little tykes might want to take them to see "Rise of the Guardians"

I didn't fall asleep and actually found it amusing at times myself

Highly recommend

I didn't thin I was going to like it, but I saw Snow White and the Huntsman the other night and was really surprised. They did some great things with that movie and I found it really enjoyable.

I saw the Hobbit on 3D on Boxing Day and thought it was fantastic. I don't go for 3D but this is probably the best movie I have seen in this format.

Wreck It Ralf was enjoyable too.

Was fairly dissapointed by The Amazing Spiderman considering I had waited so long to watch it.

Skyfall was a very good film and a bit of a departure from the usual James Bond films. They've really gone for a much more serious tone with the JB flicks now and this was more of a cat and mouse action thriller without all the usual gadgets 007 has at his disposal.

Off to see Jack Reacher this weekend…

Was certainly impressed by Skyfall too Willow. They've portrayed him as more of a blunt instrument in this movie and went a little more into the Bond character. Had a good ending and the villian was well casted.
