Moving WT to Campbelltown

So a mascot determines 50 to 70% of our fan base…got it

I can only guess how many fans have the same opinion as mine but for me
take away the Tigers emblem then I am finished with the club.
Will not follow Wests Magpies or Wests with a new mascot.

Want Wests Tigers to remain as they are now even if they train & play all their games at Campbelltown.

Replace the "TIGERS" mascot then I'm done with the club possibly along with about 50 to 70 percent of the current fan base.

For possibly the 10th time you won't lose the Tigers mascot

The NRL own the Tigers logo ,it would only possibly change if we relocated

Get rid of both grounds and move fulltime to ANZ for home games. As for training stick to the Inner West. Its a joint venture owned by a club in Ashfield and a club in Balmain/Five Dock - it is an Inner West Club

Cool story bro. Yet every yr Wests Tigers take part in the battle of the West membership competition against Parra, Penrith and the Dogs. But no, we aren't classified as an outer West team

There is absolutely no chance of this club being recalled Western Suburbs Magpies.Dont worry about that.As for Campbelltown dont think it will ever be their base I think the base stays in inner west(nearer players homes)but I do think "eventually"ditching Leichhardt and playing six ANZ and 6 cambo is the future.

How many times does it need to be said before it actually sinks in to people that the Tiger emblem isn't going anywhere

10 hasn't been enough :brick:

Maybe the Mods need to add it to the rules before you join the WTF

It's someone's opinion of whether or not the emblem will change so it may come up another 10 times guys.

It's no different to my opinion that we are predominantly an inner west team. We touch boundaries with Parramatta on the western area of Sydney and the Bulldogs to the south-west. The irony is that we basically have the Bulldogs flanked with Campbo in the mix.

Unless they move the Tigers to CQ ,Perth ,Darwin or PNG the WT's logo can't change because the NRL owns the rights to the Tigers

We can't legally change it for any reason and we would mad to do so

My team hasnt been my local team since 1987, which before that it was….so really it matters little to me where we train & play

Its not tribal anymore, but I can appreciate it still is for a lot

I just dont care

Foreveratiger, good on you for having the strength to apologise and admitting you were wrong, speaks highly of your persona.
When I started the thread it was only saying that theWT could be TRAINING at Campo because of the state of Concorde.

Cheers FT…..  :sign:

Back on topic in regards to the Campbelltown move full-time for training purposes, I mentioned earlier posting that our situation is possibly comparable to the Dragons. They train full-time in the gong. Don't know how true it is but I was told that along with their money problems (again like us) they are struggling to attract quality players to buy due to training location.

Seriously ,training at Campbelltown will not attract players.living at breakfast point and travelling to Campbelltown would be the pits .playing 6 at anz and 6 at Campbelltown will kill off more than half of the teams supporter base IMO we should play every game at anz and form a training base In the homebush region .i can't believe people still have an us versus them attitude when it comes to the weststigers .Balmain saved wests and like any marriage you stick together in sickness and in health .anybody who seriously thinks the Nrl will let western suburbs stand alone again will be waiting for a long long time .Harry will buy the team before that even gets close to happening .

IMO, we have no world renowned coach, no superstar and no money or a line of sponsors. If we can manage to get our hands on top facilities at a good convenient location, that would probably be our best attraction to be able to sign good players.

As long as they move somewhere that has state of the Art training facilities they could move to the Moon for all I care

Geo what's the point of having state of the art facilities if players don't want to travel, say the big developement at Liverpool had everything plus offered WT everything they needed at the top level..
Apparently the big dollar earners don't want to travel to WORK..

As I said in another thread if you want to achieve your goal of playing NRL football, you would travel anywhere to achieve that goal..
How the world has changed… :stuck_out_tongue: :unamused: :unamused: :sign:

Don't think we want players looking for an opportunity… We want top line players who can pick and chose their clubs.

If you boss said you can work 15 mins down the road or an hour down the freeway for the same money, which destination would you choose?

Can't understand how anyone cannot comprehend what a difference location makes to players who will be travelling to training 4-5 days a week.

In a crowded Sydney market we need every competitive edge we can get.

Just out of interest where do Saints train, Kogarah or Wollongong ?

…They train in Wollongong full-time from what I know, unless someone can correct me. Someone I know with deep connection at the Dragons reckon it is becoming an issue now especially being cash strapped like ourselves, struggling to attract players to the club.
