Tbh i ain't to worried about getting Moylan as i can see Lolohea making fb his own.

X2

I could see Lolohea scoring 12+ tries next season and improving on his 76% conversion rate.

Im not confident in Lolohea. I think he's a centre. His passing game is extremely erratic. The class and poise of Moylan is exactly what out team needs. Put Lolo in the centres where he just runs.

Moylan would be our best player.

He can work on that during the preseason.

Defence is an issue for Lolo at centre imho. Plus we have Suli/Milne/Fonua/Naiqama that need to fight it out.

The way Reynolds is playing, you'd move him first if this Moylan thing was to happen. Moylan has been killing it at 5/8…

1\. Lolohea
6\. Moylan
7\. Brooks
9\. Reynolds

14\. Liddle

Or

1\. Moylan
6\. Lolohea
7\. Brooks
9\. Reynolds

14\. Liddle

Panfas released a statement saying Moylan is 100% committed to Panfas and that he will have some time away to deal with personal stuff.

If he wants to leave, they would have got him to agree to say nothing until after the finals, so the statement neither confirms or denies what will happen.

Whats is the point of signing Moylan when we have our spine covered? Even Ivan Cleary stated last week he wasn't really looking into getting Moylan if he was released. I guess he would be alright if he played in the 6 and move Reynolds to hooker but I want Liddle to stay in the starting side.

So now he is taking time out to sort out personal issues. Those would be the issues of playing at which club and for how many dollars over the next few years.

There's definitely room for a origin quality player.

If we had Reynolds, Benji, moylan, lolohea, Brooks on books we have no shortage of quality players covering injuries and suspensions etc to each spine position.

What happens now tedesco on origin we use naiqaima at full back. Brooks injured we use little John. Major issues with depth in current squad.

To be honest, I don't think our spine is settled for next year, our halfback slot is very much up for grabs. Brooks has been fairly poor for us this year (with a couple of exceptions). He has only 1 year left on his contract, and we may be better off using him as a backup for 12 months and play Moylan in the 13\. Players like Moylan don't become free agents that often, and if we wait 12 months until Brooks' contract is up then we may have not have many choices.

This is all speculation assuming Moylan is actually released and wants to come to the Tigers (both of which seem probable).

"Moylan was expected to return from an ongoing hamstring injury in time for Saturday’s do-or-die final against Manly on Saturday, but that will not happen.

Panthers boss Phil Gould confirmed Moylan would take “some time away from the game to deal with some personal issues”.

so… Moylan's no longer injured , but just going to sit out the final series? lets see how this works out Gus.

Definitely sounds like Gus is dictating terms.
Given the way the club is viewed at the moment with what's gone on you couldn't imagine it going any different.
Being the club captain the spotlight is on both the club and player into the finals series which the club would be desperate to avoid.
Giving him time away keeps the distraction away from the squad and could allow them to regain focus.
I think we'll hear a lot more about it in the off season.
Funny, the coach wasn't in the meeting.

The press release after todays meeting might be all about getting the media off the Moylan thing and who knows when the Penny's season has finished, probably next week it may all start again. I say he will stay, but the door is not shut. I would still rather hang out and see what falls into the market place

I don't think we are desperate for a fullback, however if Moylan is released and another club wants to squeeze him in it might open up an opportunity for us to grab another forward.
