MOYLAN MAYBE RELEASED ..

Brent Read on twitter says Moylan is staying at the Panthers & rival clubs were informed today . The saga is over .

THE saga is over. Matt Moylan is staying at Penrith.

Channel Nine has reported Moylan’s manager Allan Gainey on Friday informed rival clubs the star playmaker will remain at the Panthers.

It comes after reports emerged Penrith had slapped a $250,000-per-year transfer fee on Moylan which would have seen the five-eighth fork out $1 million over four years if he had broken his contract.

Cronulla, Wests Tigers, and Manly were among a number of clubs believed to be interested in luring Moylan away from the foot of the mountains.

Moylan was stood down indefinitely towards the end of the season and hasn’t been heard from since.

This is not over. Yes I hope it is over from us, but not over yet.

If Moylan does not play to his pricetag and acts up, then he will be released.

Well, it could be argued that Moses set the precedent. At the end of the day, it's futile persisting with someone who doesn't want to be there - eventually something will give.

Can we dedicate a 45 page thread to finding a backrower now? A position where we actually need to find a marquee signing.

So I wonder how the relationship with Trent Merrin will be next season?

Obviously Gus couldn't find that third year in England for Maloney. Conversation for another time, but it's really hard to believe Griffen and Moylan will still be there by the end of 2018, one will be on their bike.

Good move by his manager.

Gould over played his hand. He needs to shed players as Penrith are over the cap. He sees an opportunity with Moylan, realises other clubs are genuinely keen so goes from 'Moylan can negotiate' to transfer fee.

Manager calls it 'sorry Gus we will stay'… your move...

Penrith accountant "stuff it, I'm calling the Roosters, I need some advice"

Well the transfer fee is out of his pocket so it doesn't affect the clubs.

If he can get a TPA that pays for the fee and then a decent size contract from the salary cap then he still might move.

The most likely option is that he will stay at Pemeoth but this is definitely not over.

I'd love to take Trent Merrin off Panthers hands.
Geez he would be an astute pick up

Much more needed than Moylan.

YES, I think I said something to this effect earlier.

Merrin is travelling to Penrith, surely our training ground is closer.
Our Fullback is learning and developing. Somehow we have halves! We have our centers picked, maybe need a winger but we also have Naiqama to add depth around that area.

We may have lost Chris McQueen to injury (be a bummer if he still counts on the cap) but I could see Merrin sliding into spot 29\. The question is how much?

Merrin lives down near the Gong so Penrith would be a far easier drive than Concord

Time to shut this thread down. We do not need more boring speculation.

Enough already!!!

Speculation makes the internet World go round Col …i quite enjoy reading people's thoughts and insights even yours...

We don't close threads as a general rule unless they degenerate into slanging matches..I've got a really simple solution for you though if you don't want to read the speculation or a topic does not interest you anymore...don't click on it and scroll on by...problem solved..easy...

Thanks for the advice. I will follow it.

The off-season is boring enough.
