My letter to Stephen Humphreys

I felt so embarrassed by our effort today I have penned this letter to Stephen Humphreys…I suggest everyone does the same...if you want his email address PM me...

Dear Stephen,

As a member who attended today’s game I must say I felt embarrassed at the effort of our established players today.

I realise we have a massive injury toll, but that is no excuse for the effort that was put in by our highly paid recruits from last year and by some of our long term WT players..

I feel our season has slipped away over the last 2 weeks and we will now struggle to make the 8\. Even if we do make the 8, we clearly don’t have the defense or attack to make a decent charge like we did in 2010 and 2011.

Injuries aside Stephen, our highly prized recruits this year have not performed up to scratch. Aaron Woods can hold his head up high, but when it comes to comparing pay-packets with his more illustrious, but under performing front rower he must feel disheartened...Enough said as I think I’ve made my point. The average punter would whole heartedly agree with me.

I truly feel what we lack the most is a genuine halfback -one who can organise and direct the team around. We have not had that this year and we have suffered. Benji is a free spirited running 5/8 and by putting him at halfback he has become a shadow of his former self.

We have had a tough 2012 with injuries, but i feel we have shot ourselves in the foot with our selections and some of the players not performing to their previous standard.

Is it time to rebuild?...we had our chances in 2010 and 2011 and now we are on the downward slide...I’ll still buy my 2013 membership....but my expectations next year will be more realistic...

Give the bloke some time. No doubt he's probably been fielding dirty emails since 5.01pm Sunday afternoon. He does reply because I have emailed him on numerous occasions and namely one was after the Souths game in '10 and he got back to me about four days afterward.

Nonetheless Underdog, he is the front for the club and thus should deal with all matters that the investors (which is what we are as members, merchandise buyers and game-attending public are,) believe to be detrimental to the club.

When people are pouring hundreds of dollars into your coffers every year, you owe them a voice… Even if it is lip service, it is still an obligation of someone within the club to respond to concerns of fans.
