Nathan Cleary

Dreams are free…

Nathan will be at the Rorters to replace Cronk...everyone knows it's true..

Love it, Cleary Sr is awesome at playing mind games and the press.

But this story means a few things.
Yes WT are interested in Cleary Jr in a year or so.
Yes that will place more pressure on Panthers this year to perform, knowing they may lose their key playmaker soon.
And yes Brooks knows he must step up, and no more waiting, it must be now, this year (2018).

Good time to be a Tiger.

Yes, I agree with all your points!. :sign:

Panther fans are positive that he has re-signed for 10 years.

Is that under the guise of Phil Gould…..

There is no way Nathan Cleary would sign up for 10 years when he still has 2 years to run on his current deal....he will test the market in 12 months time.....and the timing for WT is perfect....if in 12 months time Brooks doesn't cut it...its off to Newcastle for Brooks and you can bet your bottom dollar the WT will go hard for Clearly Jnr

Ivan is like Lavar Ball he will pump up young Nathan’s price well played. Seeds have been sown.

Yup, and you can bet your bottom dollar that in all of this Ivan wants to have the last laugh over Gould….

Gus would be well aware of the ominous shadow creeping down Mulgoa road towards Pepper stadium, that is Nathan's father. He'll be hell bent on wrapping Nathan up long term. I think a strong case can be made for why Nathan would want to play under Ivan, and vice versa why he wouldn't. It could go either way imo.

I must admit that has crossed my mind GNR , and it might be a smart option to do it later in your career than earlier , let Nathan mature more and be confident in himself

Depends on their relationship I guess to major degree

I know I have about a 4 day limit with my Dad before we are getting narky with each other 😱pen_mouth:

Everyone is seeing this as tigers chasing Nathan?

I see it is Ivan trying to secure his next contract.

The tigers coaching role has been very hostile for the last hal of a decade. If tigers go ok and the possibility of grabbing an in form half, as well as a possible retirement of Bellamy and also Bennett.

There is a strong chance the duo could end up at the storm or the Broncos.

Pity…...

As great as it would be I just cant see it happening, simply because of the human factor. Anyone who has a father son relationship where authority is involved will understand the challenges, and while both Ivan and Nathan seem extraordinarily close, there are great risks not only for them but also the other players.
It would become "their"team and the other players would have to buy into that.
A very common situation in childrens sport but not sure it will transition well into the professional arena.

We'll find out November 1st 2018 when he's eligible to sign.

At least we will be in a good position to make an attractive offer.
I won't get my hopes up until I actually see him in a Tigers jumper. However out of all the next generation stars..he'd be the most likely one we would target.

After 2 years of Cronk the Bondi Sombreros would be keen for the Cleary package deal too

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the article. This as much about Ivan as it is Nathan.

And that they would be targeted by the likes of the roosters, Broncos, storm and sharks.
