Nathan Cleary

Think about it from Cleary's perspective.

He signed some slow plodders here for the next 3 years, we have poor facilities and have not made finals in 7 years. If the Roosters and Broncos come in and offer him good money with hims son then I doubt he will stick around. Knows those rosters will be strong for years to come.

Wouldn't surprise me if he bolted in 18 months if were trudging along in the Bottom 4-6\. Wouldn't make him too popular here but its not like he is a Tigers man in his history.

He was a Tigers fan growing up

A lot of you are obsessed with our gym facilities, poor you say - how many fans have even seen our facilities? I bet not many!
This is becoming a consistent bug bear, I suggest we stick with what we actually know - Reynolds mentioned he wasn’t going to a team because they may have a few more dumbbells.

Yes always amuses me as well,if the facilities do not fit certain needs these can be attained off site , do we really think a player offered a huge contract will say sorry the Broncos have there name on there dumbbells so I am going there !I think there are other things in play that top liners do not want to be at the club.

Yeah. We're losers. Balmain were, Wests were and now we are.
That's just how it is.

If the Cleary’s want to move to another club together good luck to them …there are plenty of coaches around looking for a start...who would of thought the South’s or Titans coaches would be such a surprise ..I for one will lose no sleep over it!

Good attitude to have Snake.
Life goes on…
As you say quality coaches unearthed this year after given their opportunities.
Just looking back to when Mick Potter was our coach we had so many set moves and chanced our arm down the blindside from scrum wins.
I miss expecting the unexpected!

Why have Pascoe or the board not responded to this. I’d stated in another thread that maybe Robbie would get him the punt.

Responding to media speculation would be unprofessional… We wouldn't wanna look unprofessional now.. Would we?

Yeah, injuries plus it all turned the famous day we played the bulldogs and Farah had the infamous blew with Potter at halftime .. the team morale was destroyed that day and we capitulated.

I missed most of the game, but apparently Luani killed it for the panthers this evening. Plus they have Tyrone May as well… looks like panthers have options if Cleary decides to leave.
I can’t see the cleary’s going to the broncos - why move away from family and friends when you’ve got a number of suitors in Sydney? And if they go to the roosters, whilst it would suck to miss out on Cleary, I would gladly take Robinson as our coach.
I reckon Cleary Senior probably wants to move away from being seen as a rebuilding coach a la Brian Smith. So I can see how the Roosters job would be enticing. Overall though, I think it’s highly likely Ivan sticks around long term at the tigers, and a reasonable chance of Nathan coming here.

In the end result, for anything to move forward, the club has to make a call on the future of Brooks. If he stays we don't need Nathan or any other halfback, however, if Brooks is considered beyond improvement to a high standard half, and I think he has not done enough to show consistent high quality, a call should be made this year and a replacement sought for 2019\. Maybe Nathan would be interested in an early release or it will be another half. Where Ivan Cleary would stand in these decisions who knows?

Release Brooks and Gamble.

You must have missed Brooks debut.

…and since .....

“Crickets” ............

My point is, you’re having a dig at Brooks, comparing him to a kid whose played 2 first grade games, and laughing about him showing more in those two games than Brooks has in 99\. What you seem to be missing though is how good Brooks looked in his debut, and how it drew comparisons to Andrew Johns. Now, did he live up to those expectations? Obviously not. But so far, Luai is no better than Brooks was in that game at the SCG. And as he proved, it can easily go south. So given the player you are mocking is a prime example of that, I’d wait a season before throwing Luai in his face.
