New homeground

The Katoomba Showground is just about ready to go. It's in far better shape than Blackheath Oval.

This has been said possibly 100 times: @tony-soprano is correct - Tigers currently still in the 10-year deal committed to by predecessors for financial reasons.

Secondly, the club will find it difficult to make a concrete decision right at this moment when the NSW Govt has not finalised its stadia strategy in the wake of the pandemic. It's possible some boutique venues will get Bankwest-style makeovers, or the govt might change its mind again and work on ANZ.

Pascoe told The Ambush in 2020 that the preference was a Bankwest-style stadium at Homebush, if the NSW Govt was to make that decision.

Someone needs to put their foot down here. COE being built, training at Concord, playing at Leichardt/Campbelltown/SCG/Bankwest... it's way too confusing.

I don't know what the decision is, but someone needs to make it....
..Looking at you Pascoe.

Few issues

ANZ contract hasn't expired

When it does expire we have to decide on a new stadium, LO or CS. Likely answer a new stadium so we still a few years away from that

I'm sure there are issues and it's not an easy decision.. and it's a decision that will divide fans too. But it needs to be made. 1 homeground needs to happen. Whenever contracts at ANZ/Bankwest etc expire, we need to be in negotiations with everyone now and make an announcement about where it will be. NOW.

The stadium contracts are not nrl contracts we legally obligated to play at an ANZ stadium, won't happen until it expires.

What's the plan after it?

Great viewing as well ..
Good for the dwarfs like 5’ @Demps

Leichardt Oval.

It already exists, and is a great place to watch football.

Building a 30,000 capacity stadium for a Tigers home ground seems extremely... optimistic.

were in the final 2 or 3 years of that. So if we start building could or should be ready. OFC the government wont give us a ground but its nice to think about

East Tigers.

Relocate.

Wayne Bennet coach.

Would pretty much lose my support of the club.

I remember your reasoning....

And I expect to hurt a lot of people.
It's a possibility though, it could be something that happens.

I'm sticking solid though.
East Tigers till I die !

If the club decided to move it would mean they didn't want my support and I wouldn't spend another cent on the club.

A few of us here have been through that...some a couple of times.
And THEN a merger..
It isnt easy

I'll support the team playing anywhere in Sydney but not in another state.

The people running the club have no appetite for success
the club has 6 home grounds has 11 seasons of no finals footy.
Having supported the Magpies and now Tigers for over 6 decades I feel the time is right that the Wests group decide where the organisation is heading .
There seems to be a total unwillingness to finally create an identity for the club .. the pandering to certain elements of the merged clubs has been its down fall .
No one wants to give an inch in respect of one home ground , the total void of leadership is destroying the club .
I am at a stage where I am definitely leaning toward the club relocating to Qld as the organisation as it stands is just making up the numbers and they seem happy with that.
It would be sad to see this happen but I am seeing this as a real option as I do not see the current board or the current administration having the will or leadership to turn the club around !

What about Minchinbury as a new homeground?
I say this for 3 reasons,
1: suitable land is far easier to find
2: travel time from Leichhardt to Minchinbury is 29 minutes, and it is the same 29 minutes from Campbelltown to Minchinbury.
3: Minchinbury is in the middle of 2 of Sydneys fastest growing suburbs who are Marsden park and Leppington.
And also Minchinbury will only be 20mins from the new western Sydney airport.

Deadset dump

Do you have any idea how objectionable that idea is to the Magpies, the 90% owners of the joint venture.
I'm not and never will be a Balmain Tigers supporter.
