New WT Coach To Be Announced Shortly

After incurring both the adverse publicity & considerable expense of punting the current Australian coach,Humphries wld look very amateurish indeed to appoint an untried & untested coach like Parrish or Walters, particularly after lessons learnt from the Eels who went down the same path.
It'll be a "name",& probably on some sort of incentive results based deal.
Anderson & Potter have actually achieved real successes ,& in recent times.
Folkes is in the next tier, but has been out of the main game as head coach for quite a while now,& isnt getting any younger.
If its Georgallis,Brown or Taylor ,then affordability is playing too much of a role.
Removing Sheens was the big expense..need to keep investing in quality to make it all worthwhile

"There was also mention of a secret benefactor making balmain's contributions to WT"

This came from another post..if Alan Jones is the benefactor then he will get what he wants..and what he wants is Parish..

I'd be surprised if it was Alan Jones. It's not like he is a Balmain fan or anything. He just coached them for a few years. Infact judging by what he did to the team back then, i'm more inclined to say he hates Balmain. lol

Yeah but this WT not Balmain

My comment is in relation to Alan Jones possibly being Balmains 'secret benefactor'. Not sure Jones cares much for Wests Tigers either incidentally, not enough to part with a large amount of money anyway.

Ok, thats great . So what was your point exactly?
That i wasnt aware Balmain and Wests Tigers arent the same team? That i had missed the last 13 years perhaps?

That was precisely my point, but considering we've cleared up that mis-understanding all is right with the world

Well your comprehension of my post was poor at best and quite incorrect. You appear to have taken from it whatever you wanted, not what was actually written. But you are forgiven. :sign:

Getting back on topic somewhat though. If Parrish gets the job he better be doing it for free, (ala Alan Jones reportedly did for Balmain in the 90's) otherwise i feel we are paying too much. Same goes for Jason Taylor.

with pre season 5 weeks away i dare say a coach has to be announced within the next 2 weeks .
He would want a couple of weeks to finalise his squad and hit the ground running when pre season kicks off.

A week from tomorrow give or take one or two days. Latest two weeks.
We'll be in a heap of trouble if this isn't resolved any sooner if coach isn't happy with the squad.

Regardless of who the coach is, it is encumbant upon us to give him all the support we can - he's going to need it! So if it's Parish - good luck to him.

Completely disagree Yeti. Tigers should get the best coach available. It would certainly be a retrograde step tp go to Parish - something akin to having Alan Jones as coach who by the way chose Parish to play in the Tigers 1st grade side he was coaching years ago. Does Jones still have any allegiance to West Tigers - if not why is pusihng for Parish?

God I hope not! Don't want to be associated in any way with such a low life, hate filled scumbag.

Maybe Folkes doesnt want to come back. We may have burnt that bridge last year. But what I would like to know is who is in charge of the cleanout?

We keep hearing that "we need to change the culture of the club". It seems they are keen to get rid of all the jokers in the team. Last year it was Gibbs and Fulton but the Sharks would only take Gibbs if they got Fifita and this year it was Beau and Heighno.

Hopefully it is Folkes calling the shots.

But Im thinking it will be Parish, who with his connection with the NSW SOO team will be able to bring Jennings with him and Mick Potter as his assistant.

I actually hope it is Parish he would me a good fit imo, and if he can get Jennings across hopefully he may be able to get James Tamou across too so lets just wait and hope.
