might as well start the thread with the nfl debut of Jarryd Hayne

a bright spot for us niner fans after a dreadful offseason.

Only saw the highlights but he looks very good.

I guess time will tell to see if he gets selected, and if teams adapt to him.

Hoping the Bengals have a red hot crack this year, they looked like they covered their holes at the draft but they've had a history of their draft picks not working out.

Whilst Hayne did make that good run, have to remember most teams for these first few pre season games only play there main team for a few snaps if that and then most resort to 3rd and 4th string players on both sides of the ball.

So whilst it was a good looking run there was every chance against a number one defence things could be different.

I think he could make it in special teams as a punt and kick returner if his team mates create space for open running but not sold on a running back. No doubt if gets through the line of scrimmage he will make a tonne of yards as I think his league back ground will makes him tough to bring down but whether he consistently read the guys blocking to create the gaps time will tell.

PS Go Bengals!!

J E T S Jets Jets Jets! I know I should be a Bengals fan, but went I went to the U.S. that was the team I watched at home and they won; so more nostalgia rather then a need to be affialiated with the Tigers (before you castrate me).

Re: Hayne, he only have about ~60 odd yards from 3 touches. Including his ~50-foot odd return. So not sure its the glowing endorsement that everyone is making it out to be. But like Saundo1982 said, its also a 3rd string defense. Early days yet, but think he'll be more suited to special teams rather then starting D.

Click on to youtube and watch the video. There is more than his one run.

Seems his best bet might be special teams as a kick return.

Cheers for the video Bon

My mistake; 5 carries @ 63 yards, including his 53 yard run. So made 10 yards from his other 4\. Still not taking away from the bloke, but i suppose its the difference between average and median runs.

All good Ryanda, im not fussed on the stat side of it anyway.

Do you think he will make it, i still have a few reservations.

I think he could possibly make the ten man additional squad on a call back after missing the first cut but thats just a feeling i have.

Will there ever be a hope for the Oakland Raiders?….... Nah, thought not :frowning:

A Wests Tigers, Oakland Raiders and Carlton supporter - what a trifecta! I really should give up barracking for anyone

Time for Dalton to step up. And Geno Atkins to get back to full strength. And AJ & Vontaze to be injury-free.

But being a WT, Bengals & Richmond fan, I'm used to dashed hopes.

im a saints fan and not expecting much due to cap issues moving on big names Lofton, Thomas, Gallette and Graham. But the NFC South isn't the strongest so never know

Didn't Geno have his jaw broken ??

Wrong geno happy. You are thinking of geno smith from the jets.

I'm a bengals fan and think they should do well. Dalton is maddeningly inconsistent but having 2 studs in aj green and Jeremy hill helps.

Green Bay look to be the favs, Rogers is on another level IMO and he has plenty of weapons to utilize.

Really hope hayne makes it, think his best shot is as a return specialist.

Im a Steelers fan, hopefully our new additions will make an impact this year. Without LeBeau this year, I'm kind of nervous.

I'm a Jets man, Lakers and Hawthorn supporter and of course a proud Wests Tigers man

Following all of the aforementioned teams as well, you can understand why I can be a sarcastic, bitter fellow at times

Supporting one Tigers team is enough for me.

They pretty much suck in every sport. Ill keep the Wests Tigers and any rugby league Tigers but i make a conscious effort to avoid like the plague any other sporting team with a Tigers emblem.

Yeah exactly, once a week is enough.

I started getting into the EPL recently, my gf a Tigers fan from way back jumped on Hull . Not me, just couldnt do it. To prove the point they got relegated, she is now looking at proper teams like Chelsea and Everton lol.

It will not belong before season kicks off .. college ball should not be to far away , really got into it the last couple of off seasons ..great coverage on Fox .Do not support any team at present hopefully one will stick soon. Any suggestions ?
