Nofoaluma - Contract Thread..

Nofo is a priority over any of the precious 4.
He has more heart than them combined and should be shown loyalty in return for his loyalty in non dramatic fashion.
He backs up each week. Unlike the precious 4.

What a stupid comment. You clearly have never watched a game. Nofoaluma is completely hopeless and cost us the game today.

Teddy is the priority but Nofo is second, bit harsh to say he cost us the game. His chase on Jennings gave us a chance, the skipper did absolutely nothing and the guy wearing number 6 had his finger in both pies I think.
Nofo was gassed at the end but in no way did he cost us the game.

you are usually better than this avocado….

once Idris went all hitman in the middle of the park, our defence never adjusted so we were compressed towards the middle. I said it a few weeks ago I think it also happens alot because of Taylors tendancy to do so as well.

go have a look at the trys again on noffas edge, mark them up man for man and you will see what I am saying. I once noticed a 3 or 4 man overlap, noffa cannot get them all.

I stand by my comments 100%. I think he makes too many errors. Defensively he's a complete liability and has been shown out for years but his errors are just crazy. Turned over with a stupid offload in our own 20 then a knock on later in the game in our own 20\. And then yes he certainly showed good speed to chase down Jennings but catching the pass in the first place would have made that effort moot (sure it was an ordinary pass but come on, make an effort).

I've thought for a long time that Nofoaluma is a player that has shades of brilliance in attack but his poor defence and errors in key situations make him too much of a liability. I think he's the most overrated player in our team and to say it's more of a priority to sign him than (arguably) the best fullback in the game and a Kangaroo/Origin prop is absolutely ludicrous. I for one would be very, very happy to see Nofoaluma move on.

At best, that's an overreaction. At worst, you didn't watch the game. Nofo should be a priority signing for us.

That's fine, but it's my opinion and I stand by it. We'd be much better off without him.

He was pretty poor today. His defence is pretty ordinary. His attack and hit-ups are unreal.

It's good to stand by your opinion but just like anybody else's opinion, you have to understand that it could be wrong.

Absolutely, and by that token you have to concede that my opinion may indeed be correct.

So you missed the try saving tackles on Radradra and Jennings?

So you missed the fact that Moses and Aloiai were the tacklers and we were left short when Parra scored the first try and no-one adjusted on that side (so did the commentators)

So you missed the fact that he has been our best and most consistent player all year including today.

So you missed the fact that some of our players should be playing Intrust Super Cup

There's just no pleasing some people….

Noffa did not cost us the game.................

Exactly - and this is precisely why labelling someone else's opinion as a 'stupid comment' is disrespectful and unwise.

Saying that a player of Nofoaluma's ability is more of a priority to sign than a) one of the best fullbacks in the game and b) a kangaroo prop is a stupid comment. Sorry, but it is.

I thought Nofoaluma was pretty good today. He and Idris had a lot thrown at them and did well to hold them out on almost every occasion, especially considering they were up against Jennings and Radradra.

Perhaps on a par with saying he is 'completely hopeless' and 'cost us the game'?

He did have some errors in him today but giving Jennings a start and catching him before the line showed great commitment. Maybe Jennings has lost some speed but others would have given up on that chase. I think the coach will probably iron out some of the defensive lapses and he'll only get better.

Our whole side makes mistakes defensively , why we are in the position we are in

The pass from Moses was junk , when the winger needs to stop and then try and pick it up from his shoelaces only one person is at fault

He's been one of the better wingers in the comp this season, and one of our best - but he was well below his best today. A few costly errors and poor decisions.

Thought he was ok today. Would rather jettison Kev than him, but maybe most people consider that a no brainer.

He's an average winger. Nothing more. He's a finisher, and metre eater. He's also poor in defence, poor under the high ball, not very fast and has some errors in him. Our fans over-rate him because he scores spectacular tries and makes impressive gains coming out from our own end.

Sure he has some muppets defending inside him too, but he makes the wrong call on too many occasions on whether to go for the intercept, or make a tackle.

We will end up paying overs to keep him even though no-one else wants him. Parra want him apparently - yet targeted him all game long? There might be a weakness in team tactics but targeting deficiencies in defence is hardly a vote of confidence in the players' ability.

That's a very fair summation although I would say his defence has been below par all year. What yesterday highlighted was our lack of pace on the wings. If Nofoaluma is to continue at right wing, our right centre must have excellent pace otherwise we will continue to be outflanked.
