I believe there was a designated race every Friday night that was fixed and that's where the big boys made their money. The master fixer was one of the big 3 of NSW crime at the time.So true !
They used to play this on 2KY all the time...my old man had the radio permannently fixed thereReminds me of the very old racing ditty;
“ The owner told Clarence the Clocker, the clocker told jockey McGee, the jockey of course passed it on to the horse, and the
horse told me “

I used to go to the Tab many, many moons ago with my father late on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of big green garbage bags, empty the bins of all the used tickets and go home and go through them all. Usually found a couple of discarded winners but the big collect usually came if there was a protest or two during the day and people threw their tickets away without checking the protest result. It used to be called “emuing” - ie. the emu picking through the rubbish -but is barred now at both tracks and Tabs.In the days before mobile phones and pubtab....the TAB in burwood was down behind the police boys club...being only a kid at the burwood pub my old.man and his mates would all be getting me.to run down to.the tab to put thier bets on.
