Keen for the actual trials to start. While the nines gives us a look at how players do individually it has no real bearing on how the team will go playing proper footy. Best takeaway is that we looked fit and fast compared to other seasons. Heading to Penrith for the trial ??
Trials have no bearing either.
They have a lot more bearing than nines. It’s actual footy only two weeks out from the season I’m not gonna say how we will go just from watching a trial but it’ll give us a look at the kind of footy we will want to play
They count for nothing. I remember being at one in 2011, and walking out of the ground convinced we were wooden spooners, and we made the top 4. They’re to blow the cobwebs out, nothing more. Sometimes by the end of the game, there’s not one player on the field from a team’s starting 13. How are you supposed to get a gauge from that?
I literally said I’m not going to gauge how the real will finish based on the trials, but it will show me the style of footy we want to play, what positions the players could be in etc. The team for the trial against warriors will be pretty close to our round 1 team.
*sigh*
