If he'd done this earlier in the season when the crackdown was on he'd have gotten 5 years.

The NRL has to take action against Perenara and as soon as they do it's clear Robinson was correct. Klein will get demoted as well if they have enough Refs in the bubble.

I'm still staggered he didn't get sent off - it was a high, late, forceful shoulder charge which looked completely deliberate. The dictionary definition of a dog shot and EXACTLY what the game is trying to stamp out.

The NRL has a gold plated opportunity to make a statement - it will be interesting if they're too weak to properly punish one of their chosen ones.

It was just the same as Matherson shot on Parker.
He should get 5 weeks.

He will get a 50% loading because of his hit o garner this year. 5+2.5 = a week for sure

How can you believe it wasn’t intentional. He does dog shots like that every game!

If they are fair dinkum he should receive atleast a 6 week suspension.

If the one on Nofa got LM 4 weeks, this one on Manu should be at a minimum the same. To me its even worse.

Souths fans believe he will get off as Manu was falling... I want what they are on as he SHOULD get min 4 weeks but we all know he will get 2 so he is back for 2nd week of finals.

Brandy Alexander was talking it down as well - reckons Mitchell was only trying to prevent Manu getting a pass to Tedesco and accidentally hit him in the head. The spin is already on to minimise his sentence.

Trent Robinson finding out what's it like to coach a team with a salary cap. Welcome back to the pack.

Still wish the circumstances were different and we signed Mitchell.
He's a flog, but he's a superstar flog.

He wasn't going to let anyone stop him for his second try. Haven't seen a Tigers try like that for a long time

I just watched Robinsons presser and yea his overall view of things is correct but if he thinks its only the rorters that get bad calls he is totally delusional. Let him come down and coach one of the bottom sides and see how unfair the decisions are. And then you have the media gushing all over him about how brave the rorters are even going to the game with half their side out. This is the trouble with rugby league - the whole thing is run for 4 or 5 clubs and the crap only hits the fan when one of them is seen to be dudded.

Agree, maybe he should sack Radley and JWH, if he is so incensed?

Though how LM didn’t get sent off is beyond belief imo?

But Im sure the judiciary will be lenient on him because he is such an indigenous icon…

I would hope that "indigenous" would have zero impact on the suspension this piece of crap deserves. He is a disgrace to the true indigenous champions who have played the game, men like Corowa Campbell Beetson Renouf just to name a few.Mitchell is purely a thug and a bully.
His suspension should continue for at least 4 games into next season

He's copped a lot of racism on social media and spoke up about it.

Racism is better off left in the garbage bin.

Honestly though, it does make you second guess yourself when commenting on him as a player because you don't want to be accused of such vile stuff but him and Cody Walker are disgraceful players. Nothing to do with race but how they conduct themselves on field.

Racism is an appalling thing and i am sure the vast majority of us have witnessed it both directly and indirectly but that is not an excuse for thuggish behaviour. The 2 blokes you mention are both terrible human beings in their attitude to others much like that other flog from souffs S.Burgess.
That club prides itself on its indigenous connections which is fine and i respect that, but Mitchell is one of the biggest grubs in the game and is actively doing a disservice to the people he believes he represents.

The problem with only saying its the poor rorters who cop all the bad calls is he comes across as a sook. It would have been far more damning of the NRL if had just added that he sees these poor decisions being made by the same officials every week and in different games.

Can’t understand why the referees are so bad, year in and year out.

You have to look at who is the director of referees and the person who appoints them to games to see where the poison starts.Poor referees constantly get the top jobs the better referees get overlooked or the lesser games. It is like the Yakuza control the referees, they are rotten to the core

The fact the NRL’s big crackdown lasted all but 2 weeks is both hilarious and not surprising.

Absolute joke. Remember that round where every game there were a few sendoffs?
Nearly ruined footy

Spot on

Hope the damage isn’t as bad as Rowdy’s. Rowdy looks pretty different post op, not necessarily in a bad way but looks vastly different to before getting his face caved in, that’s got to take a mental toll surely, from memory Rowdy’s kids didn’t even recognise him at first

Watching Cam Murray and think Brooks would be just as good in that position

idk about the Brooks comparison but Murray and Jake T are the best defenders in the comp right now. You rin within 3m of them and they will swallow you up. Even our best defender ever in Gareth Ellis wasn't ever as good as that.

I think Mitchell is a nut case. He thinks he is privileged/protected, resents being tackled and goes out to hurt players illegally at every opportunity.

Doehi was suspended for a couple of weeks near the end of last season fo something that was completely innoccuos compared to what Mitchell did last night,

He has a vindictive streak.

I can see the Instagram exchange now:

Latrell - Hey brah sorry brah. Didn’t mean to hurt ya brah. Chin up brah

Joey - Hey cuz no hard feelings brah. All part of the game cuz!

2 weeks suspension

Theres a fine line.....the best players sometimes cross it
Id love a player or 3 with his ability and attitude but a bit more control
This is why we love our game but sometimes its not difficult for players to overstep
the mark

The racist indigenous comments earlier were poor and not needed
