That's play on if a purple jumper throws that pass.

Warriors were the better team, deserved to win that

That's funny if it was Wests Tigers who lost..it would be how crap we are and can't close out games..

Not if we had the players the Warriors had out, Matterson playing at 6, Gamble at 7, Jennings at fullback, a rookie on debut in the centres.

The insinuation ( i only say this as im too lazy to look for facts) that the Roosters have been in 15 of the last 20 GF should show even the most ardent opponent of such a system the salary cap does not work.

Cmon surely your memory doesn't agree with the idea that Roosters have only missed 5 GFs in the last 20?

The stat that is bandied about is that either Roosters **or** Storm have contested 15 of the last 20 GFs. Now one of those sides cheated in the last 2000s, the other is accused of having cheated now.

Thing about the Roosters is they also frequently fail to make the finals, which has always seemed odd to me. I have never analysed the "consistency" of successful teams, but last time I looked at the Roosters they miss the finals something like 40% in the NRL era. They'll win 2 or 3 MPs, make a GF, then come 14th. Definite cycle for me, where it takes them a few years to develop the top-quality team, and they wear a few lean years, then dominate for 4 or 5 years.

Tigers on the other hand had a top-quality side just twice, but those tilts lasted 2-3 seasons rather than 5-6.

Storm on the other hand have kept the core quality going more or less continuously. They are good recruiters but even better junior scouters. Yes they cheated but one would fairly say that the current Storm side is a very competitive mix rather than a huge $$$ outlay, and when you have the best hooker in history playing for the past 15 years with some very good other talent, Storm have been fortunate to have a small core of highly consistent and rarely injured elite players to keep them at the top, plus one of the best coaches in history.

All that being said, do I believe the Roosters are cap-compliant? I am sure they are, officially and on paper. Do I believe players take pay cuts to stay in a winning team at Bondi - no I don't believe this at all. Roosters do have a couple of quality players that they developed themselves, so it is fair those blokes like Latrell, Manu and Radley might have $$$ loyalty to Bondi.

The thing that gets up everyone's nose is clearly that Roosters already had a quality side, then added the comp's best halfback and fullback in one year, followed by one of the best backrowers a year later. They seem to find space for a few million just when needed, and that is what I call BS on. They release some $1M of talent to make space for $2M of talent.

@TIGER I still doubt fans would have been happy with the outcome. I reckon it would have been something like "I know we had a crap lineup today but we played ourselves into that winning position and still should have closed it out. They are professional footballers after all."

Maybe the NRL has to set the Roosters up with an top line external player who is prepared to spill the beans once they have negotiated a contract

@jirskyr You have no idea what my memory is at that time of night on Anzac Day or my willingness to research it, hence my statement of laziness to chase it. But basically i take on board what you are saying, and after reading through your paragraphs understand that we essentially agree that the salary cap doesn't work.

Huge crowd at ANZ. Must be at least 300 to watch an out of Sydney team play. Tigers v parra: 35000. Rorters v dragons: 40000.
Yep, let’s get rid of Sydney teams . YOU’RE OUT OF YOUR DEPTH TODD

Should've been played at Belmore. Toddy has no idea

I've just noticed that we never can get those "numbers" plays right, where we spread it to the wing and have numbers to make a liberal like the doggies did there with okunbour

Penrith's attack is still terrible. Kikau is their one trick

I’m not so sure Harvey. I’m sitting here thinking they are marching down field pretty well and are throwing width and strong runners at the rabbits. My take is the rabbits defence is outstanding.

6pm on a Friday by far the worst timeslot for a game.

If you’re planning on going yes. It’s great otherwise. Get home from work and you only got to wait an hour till footy is on. It’s a time slot specifically to cater to a TV audience.
