I really have a problem with quick taps.... Really not fair to not allow a defense to reset at a re-start of play.... The play has suddenly stopped due to a dodgy penalty... Players don't know if it's going to be challenged, a penalty shot taken or a quick tap... Very unfair imo

This shows the problem. I thought he dragged it into an opposition player (what the bunker ruled). But then, I also thought Lane was offside when it was kicked - the frame they showed was before he kicked it.

FWIW, I didn't think the hit on Gutherson which led to the try deserved a penalty either.

Of course, I could just hate Parramatta - I don't think anyone would begrudge me that.

It would be interesting to know what would happen if the Captain yelled "challenge" when Gutherson was running towards the line.

Yeah me too! Inconsistent rulings on them as well, sometimes they’re called back, other times they are let go like today and I can never see the reason for the difference.
