Yeah what the hell? I am legitimately just about to run out of dunny paper at home and I can’t bloody buy any because fear filled morons have gone out and bought enough of the stuff to wallpaper their entire houses with!

it’s like I’m ment to feel bad Or go out of my way to support them and other minorities every time I turn on the tv, when I have no issues with them to begin with

Why do you think you're meant to feel bad because there's an Aboriginal flag or a couple of lesbians on a TV advert? I'm a straight, white male and it doesn't make me feel anything negative at all. It's not doing anything to my way of life, because I don't feel my way of life is threatened by recognising that other ones exist. Do you think your culture is so fragile it can't survive the acknowledgement of difference?

Good post - but can definitely and probably do more relate to Blaze’s side of things... people r way too easily offended and most definitely do we get mass marketed with all kinds of crap that’s stuffed down my throat. I personally thought the choice to include an insta screenshot alone with no context was pretty silly. No issue with anything else at all. No issue with gays in my real life situation either, it honestly boils down to

A) how much of a snowflake you are, Orange
B) how much of other people’s pity/sap party’s you are able to take before snapping and going on a macho style rampage, a la @Demps

This is a snippet of what Karl Stefanovic had to say about GRETA aka LM and his role in the add
Rugby league is about indigenous (people) and everyone else coming together for the sport, not putting anyone on their own.”

ya the thing is tho you never see players like liddle wearing the aussie flag, yet u see players like mitchell always surrounded by the aboriginal flag, I feel like if your going to acknowledge cultures and nationalities why didnt tonga, samoa, new zealand or even aussies get any acknowledge since these countries are relevent in the game, but no of course the nrl gives screen time to the aboriginals cause they would have a sook if they didn't. feel like they always have a chip on their shoulder

Sorry, but if seeing a TV add, or a indigenous acknowledgement, or gay couple stirs deep emotions in you, that's the definition of snowflake. It's beneficial if you can regulate your emotions and not let such things get you going so much.

So tired of all the political correctness that the league wants to shove down our throats also, cannot they just show great league moments by whoever without singling out minorities to show they are so woke and pander to the major sponsors who now control the league, how about we just promote that Qantas guy and he just promotes gays in our game until we learn that we are racist until we put them up on a pedestal. Give me a break next we will be lectured that we don't have enough trannys in the game. Please I am happy that the gays and aboriginal have been recognised in our society BUT let me just see a rugby league without all the BS that they should leave alone

Regulation can only happen through acceptance. And if the other party’s willing to feel welcome, why would this ad attempt to make it appear as if we aren’t all united and as one? Standing together on a beachfront...

I think it isn’t his fault but this backlash kinda is, on Walker and Addo-Carr too.

Must be great for the community but

So they spend heaps researching and hiring experts to develop the perfect marketing campaign and then change it 24 hours after the launch.
YOURE AN IDIOT GREENBERG. Get off at the next stop. You’re out of your depth

So because I voice my opinion about being force fed other people’s agendas and want to disagree with it all that makes me a snowflake? However the very thing that is making them want to go out and shove it in my face doesn’t mean they are? I’m really finding it hard to understand your double standards... sympathise with them all you like, but just because I don’t feel the need to do the same and have voiced my opinion that I’m sick of hearing it, doesn’t make me a snowflake. It just means that I’m not a sympathetic sheep. I have my own problems and opinions but they don’t put me in an nrl commercial... why? Because I own my life and I don’t feel the need to blame others for the crap life thats been handed to me, nor do I sit back and ask for sympathy. All I want to do is watch a game of football without it being turned into something bigger. Clearly it’s to much to ask in this day and age.

Liked the ad, original is better. Still good work. Weird people react so hard to ads, but I don't think that's a bad sign. Keep up the hysteria people.

Surely though we can come up with a modern song ...the rest of the stuff is a non issue .....I'd say the split between NZ ,Maori ,Islander and Anglos at best is 50/50

And who cares if someone is gay or straight ...as long as they can play footy and want to join the WT's and stay at the WT's ...if they leave of course it's open season ...that the way we swing

People that are not part of a minority group who identify themselves based on race and celebrate their culture and historical achievements are labelled racists.

I don't think much of the ad itself either. I found there wasn't enough of the game being shown in the ad. The LGBT and Indigenous stuff is white noise. It isn't targeted at me, and it doesn't bother me. But the fact that people have the energy to call up sports shows and whinge about it, Jesus Christ get a hobby...

Never thought I'd hear the day when I'd hear so many blokes complain about two women kissing. I'm tipping most of their internet search histories would beg to differ.

This add doesnt celebrate what is best about the product.

The runs the hits the colours that bond us for no logical reason.

I hate the politics, the do gooding the tails that wag the dog.

Its a reflection of the world we live in these days.

Crappy add vith no forward vision just like most of Todds tenure.

Wow Blaze, what a great post mate. It’s refreshing to see people with your attitude. People who are capable of taking responsibility for themselves and thinking clearly, rather than expecting the government to solve all their problems.
We all have our issues to deal with, those who have none are lying in Rookwood or sitting in an urn collecting dust.

Agree Harvey, there are so many contradictions with the behaviour of the communists. Peter Beattie said the NRL is an inclusive organisation and that’s why we will be excluding those who have a different view of homosexuality.

Being "force fed other people's agendas" in this case means seeing someone in an advert with a flag. I just can't comprehend how it makes you feel like you can't watch a game of football. The football hasn't changed - why are you so convinced it has? You're so desperate to say that you "sympathise", yet you aren't even capable of shrugging your shoulders and waiting for round one. Why is that? Why does it bother you so much to see a flag?

I agree, it's just an ad.

The number of ads you can very easily bypass... we must (mostly) ignore hundreds of them every time we watch TV and listen to the radio. Think of all the ads with all the various messaging of one type or another - if you tried hard enough, you could find a message you don't care about. I already mentioned the Google ad with the lesbian wedding, or how about QANTAS with those indigenous kids singing up at Uluru, or even, as I also pointed out, the clean white 2.5 family driving the safe family wagon. Technically they are all agendas, whether it be highlighting indigenous or your standard white car-driving family. The needs and concerns of one aspect of society.

"Shoving it in your face" would be strapping you to a chair, Clockwork Orange-style, and forcing you to watch the ad on repeat. It's the same as anything else - if you aren't interested, switch off. Very very simply thing to do. The ad won't be around long once the season starts anyway, it will be fish and chip wrapping.

The NRL are smart putting it in come to think of it ....as it took the spotlight of the common enemy...Cammy..
