NRL360

The Matty and Cronk show had the flog that is Cooper Cronk giving it to the Tigers about how poor we were and how the game was crap and whoever scored first would go on and win it . The conditions that it was played in was always going to be difficult and sitting in the stands was hot, so I could just imagine how hard it would be playing.
Rather than focus on how we improved week on week, he felt compelled to have a crack at how slow our passing was and not spreading the ball enough. I would think you need to first get the combinations working in games before you spread the ball, however if we can score 32 points and hold the team to 6 and they were lucky to get that then we are going ok.
I was impressed with the goal line defence by our team to keep turning them away along with the backing up in attack. Cooper also had cracks at Luai for not being direct in attack, yet praised Galvin numerous times. I like Galvin but he is not the messiah and whilst his best attribute is his fitness without forwards to lay the platform we get what we have the past three years.

Not a Cooper Cronk fan.
Cronk has good analysis but is extremely biased. He makes Matty Johns look like a genius at times. Cronk is not a luai fan. Never has been.

Dragons were coping it tonight, mainly for the handling of Illias’s performance in the press conference. Braith is his manager, said it should have been handled in-house. Can see that club imploding with 3 players in the last 6 months being released, Hunt, Molo and Lomax

Great player no doubt, but as a pundit he's dog shit, so one-eyed and really gives no insight.
Billy Slater on the other hand I think is actually a great pundit has a great way of explaining nuances of the game. Also seems to be far more invested the game today, Cronk's arrogance is just nauseating.
Agree with you, Adelaide. I enjoy listening to Slater's insights. Cronk in love with the sound of his own voice.

I don't know he cares enough to hate the tigers. But he speaks about them disrespectfully all the time. And I get it he went from 1 of the best teams of all time to one of the best teams of all time and then played in rep sides that were the best of all time. I don't think he can understand the game from the bottom of the ladder.
In the parra game there was constant valid criticism of both teams followed by apologies to Parramatta supporters. With 25 minutes to go and tigers up 22-0 cronk said words to the effect of " one of these teams is going to click soon and blow the game open ". I like all of us here am well aware of the tigers being able to let go of a lead. However that comment is so dismissive of the team on the park at the time its criminal.
You are correct, he can’t relate.
The Kangaroos and Maroons squads he was a part of were all time. The Melbourne and Roosters sides were peak NRL club sides.
As for us not being respected,…you have to earn it. We have produced so many awful moments over the years that it will take a while for the boys to be taken seriously.
Keep winning and the flowers will come.

Should be called Matty and Gronk.
I'll be honest, had all the time in the world for him as a player until he opted for the soft option at the Roosters. He doesn't hold a candle to Thurston or Johns. Both of those guys had some ordinary players around them and still won comps by carrying teams on their shoulders.
The only way to shut him up is to keep winning and proving him wrong. It was nice to win on the weekend and an improved performance for the last 60 mins, but that needs to turn into 80 mins and be week after week.
Not sure I’d call leaving Melbourne to go to the Roosters a soft option….

Now leaving the Tigers to go to Melbourne I world certainly call a soft option

On the other side of the ledger Billy Slater and Gus Gould have both got us on the up and up. Got to be able to take the good with the bad I guess.
I know a lot of people don’t like the channel 9 commentary team and you can say what you like about them, but one thing they rarely do is put shit on the Tigers. In fact, they often pro-Tigers or at least very encouraging of the team. Unlike the Fox and NRL 360 commentators who always have something bad to say about us in just about every game. I know who I’d rather watch and listen to.

Have to say- the 9 team are far less one-eyed in their commentaries.

I know a few on here hate Gus Gould, but he actually provides valid insight. Fittler is underrated IMO. Slater is a class tv guy. (Not as big a fan on the field- but I hear he is a nice guy in real life..)

The 360 guys are click-baiters. I actually don't mind Anasta. Gordon Tallis seems like he is fair in his critisism.

The issue is- 360 has journo's as analysts. Buzz, Read, Hoopsie Doopsie, Carayanis, Crawley etc- they throw out little hooks hoping something will catch. But there is nothing of substance to what they say. And because it's easy bait to trash the Tigers- they stick to what they know.

Cooper Cronk is as dull as they come. Alexander is getting salty in his old age.

Ennis & Meninga are acceptable. I actually don't mind James Graham when he's on.

I think people are tired of hearing the same rhetoric every time they turn the tv on. I'd rather listen to Willie Mason, tbh. At least he has opinions, generally based on experiences.

Was listening to Kent talk about the journos on 360 when it first started.

He made a good point in that the footy guys had no concept of creating content to discuss each day. He said you can't turn up to your boss 3 days a week and say there's no news...you need to find something to discuss whether you like it or not.

It's a sign of the times more than anything. You can see it with our recruitment. If a players goes, people are raging there is no news the next day of the replacement knowing full well the spot is open and MUST be filled...but they want news and they want it now.

It is what it is...people are smart enough these days and a bad rumour gets shot down just as quickly as it came up due to the speed of information.

I remember when the Saturday and Sunday paper and a few issues of Rugby League Week would have to do.

It is just the usual Murdoch approach to all of his empire, promoting lies and pushing agenda is what it is all about very rarely mention facts unless it supports the agenda that Fox promotes.

Many supporters who gets riled up by News Ltd's unfavourable treatment of x club don't realise that the same lack of integrity and agenda-driven journalism extends to all facets of the organisation.

I call it soft because he went to a team already in the 8 where he knew the road was going to be easier to compete for premierships. If he had never won a GF than I would understand at that stage of his career, but we will never know how good he was because he only ever surrounded himself with superstars. So like earlier posters have stated, he could never relate to someone like Luai who's happy to get down in the trenches and see how far he can rise.

When Parra went over for that try in the last minute, didn't Cronk say something like ''that could only happen to the Tigers'' (as in missing out on a shut out in those circumstances). Don't worry about the fact we had already piled on 32 points. Cronk is a c*^khead.
Or were down to 12 men at the time. Actually, I don't recall if he called out Melbourne the week before for allowing the same opposition to score...16 points I think?
Anyway, like has been said, keep winning and he either shuts up, or looks stupid, i'm fine with either.

only the tigers could do that.

Bloody hot day, We were down on troops, the play was borderline legal and we still almost stopped the try. I thought it was unfair and downright unprofessional to say that.
