NRLW to get its first Transgender player next season -Updated

No, I look at data and try to make some assessment of whether there is actually an issue or whether things are being blown completely out of proportion. There is a small transgender population of which a small percentage will have an interest in playing the sport at any level. At the competitive level there could be rules that addressed eligibility as happened with Caster Semanya and her testosterone levels. Where there are competing rights and interests the best approach is generally to first try to strike a balance, not just write off the minority group. Also, the people whose opinions I would be interested in if I were deciding the issue would be women who are actually affected by it. Not yours.
Again, a small amount of the transgender population would have any intention of taking up the option of playing. However, their whole community gets lobbed into this issue which gets tossed around like a political football. People who have nothing to do with it make comments like "it's women's sport...not half and half or whatever the ratio is". I'm sure that makes them feel great. They already know that there is plenty of that kind of sentiment out there, this issue just shoves it in their face.
You can have your opinion. I am not sure why you think "most Australians" agree with it. The SSM vote (even though it's quite a different issue) would seem to suggest that a majority of Australians are more progressive in their thinking and don't necessarily think like a "heterosexual males with old fashioned values".
Sorry mate all googly goop to me, I am so against it, 💯%
I'm not having a go at you or the transgenders or whatever name they come up with in the future for something they discovered and want to run with because of political correctness and the equality card.
If your born a man, you a man. If your missing a chromosome and have a hormone imbalance and your expert health authority [not some quack[ recommends for your own health, physically or mentally, that you should undergo treatment fair enough.
If that is the case and that person has undergone a FULL transformation then I agree that that person could be considered a female in appearance only.
The debate then should be whether that person is suitable to play in 'women' sport because you can't change the person entirely, bone structure, genetically stronger etc. What are the parameters?
Most people who I've talked to about it and the majority of people on this forum are against it so what makes you think Australia as a whole would be all for it.
Certainly not my generation anyway.

This'll create a stir . . . . . so what if a grown man, with a willy . . . decides that he now identifies as a 12 year old girl. Changes his name to Pixibel Trixibell, and all.
A: Would you object if he can now use the girls change room at your daughter's school, and
B: can he play against the U/12 girls footy team ? . . . and
C: why not ?

That's just being sillier than an immature 12yo.

While we are on the identity bit, a vastly greater number of males that identify as heterosexual have sex with transgender persons, with or without a 🍆, than their number.

I also read some time ago about many of those same men otherwise despise them. Some Vehemently.

Just wondering, as 'thou doth protest too much' comes to mind , if any that are complaining about them in this thread are among that number?

Men probably don't need to give any input to this hey. It's upto women and it's pretty clear it's a pass. I think we are slowing heading to that star trek progressive society that I hope for.

Just to put into context this discussion may not necessarily apply only to full transformation . That swimmer in the USA you will find has only chemically transitioned and still had male genitalia.

Also what about people that identity as another gender . If workplaces and the like have people identifying what pronoun they want to be called by then makes sense it will follow to sport.

So discussion should be what do we want sport to look like in the future and take the emotion out of it as you need to look at issue from both sides

Man, what’s your reading list? Sounds hot.

Seems unfair to me for some to get a choice while the majority of us just go with what were born with...I understand TG are also born a certain way but maybe in an incorrect body, its very complex and diffcult to implement a rule across the board for all when its more an individual or case by case scenario...I really dont know things get too complicated as im getting older and I try to keep up with all the evolution of everything but i really just wanna step back and chill, go fishin

I think that you are a good example of change in society, as I have certainly noticed differences and/or movement in your thoughts over the decade or so of observation and interaction.

Positive growth is always a good thing.

There have been transexuals in tennis since 1975..Go read their gender verification which was structured in the 70's.
I can see them paying these girls a reasonable contract soon and the sport will be inundated with male players closing the door on natural women.
How would the sport be in five years with men dominating in number and reward.
