charged and will appear in the district court. his contract will be under scrutiny if found guilty. but innocent until proven guilty. Supposedly refused to leave a license premise and abused a staff member

He will not go to court ! It's a failure to leave a licensed premise. Which is a $550 fine & nothing more. He didn't assault anyone, didn't threaten anyone. He'll pay the fine & that's the end of it from a legal matter. You don't go to court for this kind of incident

Well you do end up in court if you want to defend it, but otherwise that's right. It's an offence under s 77(6) of the Liquor Act and it's a penalty notice offence. Typically they serve the penalty notice and if the fine is paid then that's the end of the matter. If he wanted to defend it then there would be a hearing in the Local Court, not the District Court.

Thanks qc who gonna defend a 500 fine at court

Most often it's cops that defend it when they get charged with it for off duty misconduct (if you were actually asking that as a genuine question…)

Why do cops defend it? Is it because it can hurt their career if they don't? Or because they know how to beat the charge?

Completely unrelated to this so called incident, but looking back now on the signing of reynolds, does anyone else feel like decision to sign him was all a bit rushed? If was at a time when the club was taking a beating in the media, and no doubt the front office desperately wanted some positive news to release. So we rush out and put out an offer that Reynolds can't refuse. I can't help but think if we were a little more patient we could've netted someone like TMM for half the coin. TMM is just an example, there could've been others.

Perhaps I just need someone to hold me and tell me that 2018 & beyond will be ok…

With Brooks a staple in the #7, we desperately needed a senior half. I think it was obvious that Widdop was our primary choice, but Reynolds was close behind him.
I don't think TMM would have been a good fit for us, or even Watson as a #6 (would have liked him as #1 though).
I'm happy enough with Reynolds - I think Cleary will be a good influence on he and Brooks as a partnership.

The signing was applauded by Gould, Fittler, Johns, Sterling and others. I believe the Dogs style of play is dominated by forwards that hog good ball and a hooker halfback that cannot pass the ball. Better player than he has shown under this Hasslerball team that is possibly the most underperforming team of quality players I can remember.

He's not the next coming of Wally Lewis but In terms of 5/8 he'd be under Maloney, Morgan, Munster, Milford, Widdop,Norman Green. He's a top 8ish 5/8 could be much worse.

By that logic, he's definitely not top 8, given he's also worse than Moylan, Foran and Cody Walker.

Maybe he's on par with Austin?? Keary perhaps at a stretch??

But even then he'd need a decent half.

A running 5/8 you don't want to have to rely on to win the game for you.

At best in 2018 we'll be on par with the Raiders halves and they can largely account for the Raiders inability to win finals footy - or even make the finals in all likelihood this year.

But hey I hope I'm wrong but I believe this was a very poor purchase as was Lolohea (unless the latter is backup or utility).

Moylan and Walker are abysmal this year terrible 5/8s both better suited to fullback. He is a better 5/8 than these two easily. Foran is a high priced risk who I wouldn't consider at his price. Anyway Grub is a mid level 5/8 who should be good for the Tigers. Who'd you expect Milford? We were a basket case the rebuild has to start somewhere and Reynolds can be very good, Cleary's biggest test along with Tui.

Just hoping for someone who can score points.

Like Moylan or Walker.

Moylan played possibly one of the best indvidual games at 5/8th against the Raiders a few weeks back that I have seen for a long time. Their halves at this point are light years ahead of ours imo.

He's doing extremely well… Play like this with us whilst letting Brooks play the organising and running role and a good partnership could form.

I never thought I'd see the day that there would be a thread on here with people cheering on and singing the praises of Josh Reynolds! How times have changed
