Official - Josh Reynolds Signs Megathread

I'll call this out now… signing Reynolds on the money we did for 4 years will end up being a massive flop and mistake... he is just an average footballer....no discipline, little skill, no athleticism... we could've done bettter... Watson instead

I think that this is going to be one of our worst ever signings. I wanted Watson because I think Reynolds is basically at reserve grade level now.

Did you watch the game tonight? His last tackle options were better than anything we have offered this year. He is still not 100% and was one of their best. I reckon his mongrel and passion is just what we need.i would rather Reynolds on $700k then Moses on $900k.

Reynolds is a solid signing an a good addition to our weak lineup. He is a running 5/8 which will complement Brooks. It was clear Ivan was going to release one of Brooks or Moses who are both halfbacks and get a running 5/8.
Watson is a project potential is there but inferior to Reynolds overall at this stage.

I thought he was one of the better players for the dogs last night. Very hard to look good in a badly beaten side, just ask our million dollar man Teddy.

Reynolds was giving his outside men plenty of opportunity last night not his fault they could do nothing with it. As mentioned his kicking game was also good and the one thing I respect about this guy with 40 seconds to play still wanted the ball ..this attribute is something this team has needed for years.. seems to be negativity for negativitys sack in this forum ATM.

After hearing Anthony Lafranchi speaking on this morning,on his regular radio spot, I'm even more dubious about McQueen. ,
It appears that his neck is worse than thought and not likely to play again for the Titans.
Is looking like surgery is needed, and also he was being very open about the seriousness of Mcqueens problems.
I was unaware that this injury has been going on from last season .
Why Are we offering a four yr, contract to someone with this sort of problem ?

JT wanted another Ballin and made sure we got one.Thank every god in the universe JT has gone

Oh! please - at the moment Watson is not fit to lace up Reynolds boots.

In the big scheme of things - Watson has no runs on the board what so ever. He has potential!!!!

We have done potential - and got done. no more of that malarky.

I agree if comparing Moses vs Reynolds I'd prefer Reynolds…but I don't consider either to be top shelf players on marquee money....Look I hope I'm wrong about Reynolds, I really hope with a change of clubs and a good preseason he comes our firing and develops a great combination with Brooks....bring on 2018 and lets see.

I was at the game last night. He was easily their best in my opinion. Certainly had the most energy in attack and defence and was constantly talking, trying to direct others who didn't listen. I'm not saying he is a world beater but he is not a reserve grade player as someone mentioned previously. On attitude alone I'd take him over some others….

What concerns me most is his ill discipline, the stupid things he is capable of doing on a regular basis. I agree with others that he has taken to running across field much too often - it seems he has lost confidence to straighten up and have a go at breaking the line. He is definitely not an organising half and his kicking game is OK - not fabulous. He definitely brings enthusiasm and a bit of mongrel, no doubt. I actually think his skill set would better suit dummy half. I am not convinced that Liddle or MM are really going to provide the variety, give us the go forward or ask the opposition too many questions, as some of the really good dummy halves are doing. In this case we need to buy a quality fullback or 5/8 depending on where Lola ends up (maybe that was why we had a shot at Watson?).

Looking at the type of team Ivan is trying to build. Josh suits it perfectly and is what we need.

Ivan has said a few times the tiger lack that Energy and Passion that the Tigers and Pies were known for.
Brooks has played his best games when we have had a running 5/8.

He wants a team with that passion and never say die attitude. What it may lack in skill it will more then make up for it in heart. Josh is exactly that.

The other thing is we have Tui at Fullback next year. Decent ballplayer and kicker as well. Which will allow Brooks to call the shots. Reynolds to run and help fix up some defense on the edges with Tui to chime in when needed.

I can really see Brooks turning a corner next year. I think Ivan will spend some more time with him and help coach him the way he needs it. Hopefully he can give him the same tips he did to his young bloke.

I do agree we are still a few forwards short but i am sure Ivan has a plan for that.

He was the best of a horrendous bunch last night. They looked dare I say it "Tiger-like" Last night.

Broncos should have won it by 50.

Andrew Fifita, Adam Blair, Thurston, Coote, Gavin Cooper, Blake Austin, Keary, Luke O'Donnell, Corey Norman etc.

Quick and easy list of players who needed a new club to maximise their form.

Sometimes it's the player, sometimes it's the surroundings and you can't say for sure until they move or improve.

Cannot comment on last night as I didn't watch the game, but agree with the gist of your post. He will most likely bring those great attributes to our team in bucketloads, trouble is he comes with that other crap that I despise in a player. Oh well, let us all hope that the good outweighs the bad.

What is the "other crap"? Ill-discipline?
