Official Moses Mbye signs till 2022..

Has played 10 rounds at fullback, in one of the worst attacking sides in the competition. Unproven, hope he measures up to the hype and his pay packet

I really feel sorry for Thompson. He has been our best player all year and is safe as houses.

Does this squeeze out Nofa from the side?

Thompson stays in the side at winger.

Good pick up - handy player. As others have said, thanks Des, you're a champ!

So Brian Kelly is on the bus, Moses is about to pick up his ticket…we still need a backrower, prop and maybe a utility...just hope the smart signings continue.

So the Kennel now is saying they are close to signing Nick Meaney to replace Mbye - According to some on here it was a done deal here with Meaney. Aah the vagaries of NRL signings - its what keeps forums guessing.

Tui will be the one to drop out.

Or Tui becomes your utility on the bench. Kelly Egan mentioned the Tigers were after a utility. If you're looking to recruit one, you'd have to think the idea is you play one.

Given the chatter around reduced interchange, you'd think future benches would include a back/utility.

Yeh - not sure Moses should be earning the reported figures he is on cause dont think he has excelled in any of the positions he has played in - although he has been expected to.
He is fast which is something we lack but so does the Bulldogs and behind a big pack he has been hardly setting the world on fire.
Handy player to have in your squad no doubt, but not sure he is a player that can turn things around for you.
Trust that Cleary has a plan, and hopefully Mbye will respond.

Who's next for us
Taupau
Jayden Su'A
Or Mariner
All 3 players are a possibility of leaving their clubs
Taupau salary cap problems at manly
Su'A looking for offers now
Mariner salary cap problems at dogs
Which one would best suit our club

Won't get any of them (that's reality).

Mbye was supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread when he came onto the NRL scene, this is why the Bulldogs put so much stock (and money) into him, forsaking so many others and getting into a financial mess.

He certainly hasn't lived up to the hype so far, but that could be more to do with team dynamics and the coaches he has played under, rather than a real lack of talent. I think his game at fullback has already improved under Pay this season, even though he is still playing in a struggling team.

It's now up to Ivan, and of course Mbye himself, to unearth the 'diamond' that the Bulldogs saw in him a few years ago when he first began. Getting players to realise their potential hasn't been our strongest suit over the years, but things are a bit different now with Ivan and the new coaching team onboard, so here's hoping.

I think he's a solid buy and if all reports are true the Dogs paying $250K of his salary is even better. In the games I have seen so far he has been one of the Dogs better players and his character seems to fit into Ivan's long term culture regeneration. All in all, a great choice and I wish he was joining us this season.
