Will it be this year or next do you know? Fingers crossed this year.

Not sure, only person to mention it including this season has been Gus Gould

From a doggie perspective and given that they are unlikely to make the eight it would make financial sense that they move Mbye on ASAP. I reckon he will be a West-Tiger as of Thursday.

I hope your right. Would make a huge difference to us this year.

Sets up match winning trys, undefeated with him in the team this year.

If you think he was impressive yesterday you have very low standards.

The thing is, i can acknowlwdge the deficincies in his game, like the howler where he dropped the ball before HT. You and his other critics can't say anything positive about him, even when he wins us games like in round 1\. Instead, when he set up the match winning try and kicks the goal from the sideline, the response was "he missed one from in front earlier so it doesn't matter". Can only imagine the crap he'd have copped if hs missed the penalty shot Matsters did last night. Marsters doesn't even cop half the crap the Tui did when he kicked, and Marsters is twice as bad as a kicker that Tui is. I haven't seen a vandetta this bad on the forum since JT. People just hate him, and find it highly offensive when its suggested he recieve credit for anything.

I don't hate him, I just don't think he's a particularly good player. You're salty because you were madly calling for him to be signed and he's turned out to be a dud.

And to say the vendetta is the worst since JT is fake news. Rankin and Lovett copped it much worse (and deservedly so). And what about Woods? You used to abuse him on this forum on a personal level, not just on his game. Fairly hypocritical of you to take umbrage with peoples legitimate criticism of a player when you've been so petty in the past.

I was hugely excited about Tui coming on board. I don’t think he has lived up to his potential or his price tag. However he is still the best fullback we have and I’m sitting on the fence with him. His good things are still being undone by the bad things he does. I’m hoping it’s just match fitness but I believe he deserves a few more weeks at fullback before we make full judgement of him.

Mbye has to want to come this year, and it’s been reported he doesn’t want to walk out on his teammates. I doubt he’ll be here this year. Definitely not on Thursday anyway. Zero chance.

Wests Tigers on the verge of signing Moses Mbye on a three-year deal

WESTS Tigers will ramp up discussions in the coming days to lure Canterbury fullback Moses Mbye to the club this year before the June 30 deadline for mid-season transfers.

Mbye’s manager is set to meet with Tigers officials this week to sign off on a three-year deal, which will be finalised by close of business on Wednesday.

His agent also has a meeting with Canterbury to arrange a suitable payout figure for flyer’s heavily back ended deal.

It’s understood Bulldogs officials have welcomed the Tigers’ interest in Mbye, as it will give them valuable space under the salary cap.

Canterbury’s cap restrictions mean the club must part ways with current players to allow them to be active in the player market.

This is why the Bulldogs would be open to releasing big-name recruit Aaron Woods, one season into his four-year deal.

It comes as the Tigers will attempt to bring Mbye to Concord in 2018.

Speaking after Sunday’s win over Canterbury, Tigers coach Ivan Cleary refused to rule out signing Mbye before the June 30 deadline.

“We’re always looking for good players, we’re always looking,” Cleary said.

“Anyone involved in an NRL club will tell you, it’s the way our competition works and with the transfer set-up, it’s on all the time.

“Whether you’re going to keep them, whether you’re going to look at someone else. This week will be no different to any other week.”

The Tigers are yet to discuss their desire to lure Mbye this season with the fullback’s agent, but this is expected to occur when they meet this week.

Until then, the Tigers are focused on maintaining their winning ways after Sunday’s close victory over Canterbury.

Stranger things have happened but i don't think he will be here this year.

Hmm I don’t know how to feel about this… to me his best position is a running 5/8, and I can only assume we’re getting him to play fullback. I see similarities to the signing of Lolohea, albeit Mbye has a bit more talent. Hopefully it works out, and I love that the dogs will be paying part of his salary.

That's an uninformed comment. He definitely doesn't have more talent but, I concede, he is in better form.

And he is a good goal kicker which is what we need desperately. :righton:

I'm seeing quite a few people making a lot out of Mbye's goal kicking. Let's all calm down about that, can we?

- Mbye is a career 69.5% kicker (98/141).
- Lolohea is a career 71.4% kicker (65/91).
- Marsters is a career 72.7% kicker (24/33).

I'm not even sure Mbye would win the kicking duties out of the three, let alone improve the outcome.

(Cue various people queuing up to explain that the stats somehow don't tell the full story and Mbye has had to kick some weird proportion of his goals from wide out/in pressure situations or some such…)

Maybe Ivan should look at having two kickers per game
One for each side of the field
Each kicker may have a preferred side to kick from and can concentrate on this side
Any stats available for the three kickers to check this out
Would be good to have a left foot kicker for the right side
And a right foot kicker from the left side

Those stats seem to suggest Lolohea is the better goal kicker of the 3.

Marsters sample size is small and he is on a fast downward spiral.

Yeah, started poorly, then couldn't miss and back to give someone, anyone else a go.

If the deal will be signed on wednesday doesnt that mean we need to wait another 10 days due to the cooling off period?

Cooling off was canned. Wont play anyway as you have to be named in the team on Tuesday but can apply for an exemption.
I doubt anyone would come in with 4 days prep anyway.

Calm yourselves down, what diff does it make if Mbye signs on Tuesday or Wednesday or next week?

And if he signs for 2019 onwards, what diff does it make if he signs tomorrow or October?

Such little patience.
