Everyone has lucky game day undies…... you’re strange if you don’t ?

Cheers mate, likewise
I suppose you could argue if $700k-$750k will be considered excessive 2-3 years down the track? It would obviously depend on the cap (assuming it will be going up), the players form at the time and the going rate for a player that is in form.
$750k might be considered average in 2 years time?
100% we don't know the figures or what they will be in 2-3 years time
But basing it on the current salary cap for me

I agree with Teddy about assuming player salaries based on journo reports. Most are usually close to the mark. However, I also like to base contract amounts on other other player signings so as to get a better “worth” perspective.
What I mean is the Tigers offered Woods, a prop, close to a cool $1M to stay. We signed Packer and Matulino for considerably less for each ($600-700k reportedly). We are allegedly paying $700-750k for a half/fullback (M’bye) so I see value in it.
While at it, Brooks is slowly increasing his market value from his current $550k contract. A lot of clubs are taking notice now so if we don’t sign Cleary jnr we will have to pay considerably more to keep Brooks next time.

I thought we had confirmation from a few in the know that journo figures are rarely close. They add on a couple hundred thousand to what's really being paid. I'm sure Yoss, Smoking gun and the Pom have all said this. Could be wrong.

KS again it’s all relative information. If I remember correctly we offered Tedesco >$1M to stay and Smoking Gun said that no way were the Roosters paying $1M under their cap - we all know what that means. Tedesco got his $1M one way or another.
@ said:My comments are based on opinion and I stand by that
It's been reported all over this forum and by the media that Reynolds is on 750k a season, along with Mbye being on 700k for year 3 and 4 once again not saying these are the figures but I'm basing it on these numbers
Mbye and Reynolds together on a figure of 1.45 in there later years of the contract too are overs in comparison to what we could've got imo
Love Josh Reynolds's energy but mate he's been here for half a season and has already copped 2x 6 week injuries and played a total of about 50-60 mins in half a season, and there were question marks on his hammys when he signed…. I hope he carves up cause he seems like a guy you'd want around your club
Once again I'm gonna highlight the fact that it's my opinion and if you cant understand the fact that a public forum contains many different perspectives you shouldn't be on a forum if you can't accept that all us fans have the right to question the value of signings on this forum

Don't discount Tui going into hooker in the next few weeks. Seriously.

@ said:I'm happy with the signing, he can play. But really he's been in the same boat as Tui. Hasn't reached his potential, and hasn't been able to nail down one position. Is he a better player than Tui? Probably. But not by much.
