Im not usually one to check out other teams forums but after someone put up a link the other day to the kennel i thought id stop in for a bit of a laugh as to what they've been saying about Mbye and Woods.
One character was saying we picked up the full tab on Mbye and was pretty insistent on it, couple of others saying its between $200-250k the dogs are forking out for the next couple of seasons.
So was wondering if any of the in the know chaps have weighed in on whether the dogs are stumping up or not. I cant imagine they arent but i guess you never know.

I could be wrong , but I can't imagine every presso being on the wrong page with the wrong info

I havent heard them quote any figures tbh so im guessing your saying they agree its $200-250k ?

800 k for Mbye is way overs if that figure is correct

Cleary wouldn't pay overs , he has said that

For me $ 500 k would be a reasonable figure for Mbye on the current market , given that top line fullbacks are being valued at $800k -$ 1 million

Kennnel want him named as 18th man for the rest of the season so he doesn't get any game time and wont develop for us. :crazy

Would be a blessing in disguise if they named him 18th man for the next few weeks. It would push him to request an early release.

NRL
Wests Tigers hopeful of landing Moses Mbye this season
MATT LOGUE, The Daily Telegraph

COME now, Moses.

Wests Tigers players have rolled out the welcome mat for Moses Mbye, saying they’d love to see the Bulldogs fullback join the club this season.

Mbye signed a four-year deal with the Tigers on Tuesday, which is set to start in 2019.

However, Wests officials remain hopeful of luring the Canterbury flyer to Concord before this year’s June 30 deadline for player transfers.

Tigers coach Ivan Cleary has also visited Mbye to encourage him to join the club this year.

For now, the Brisbane-born back is focused on Origin after being called into the Queensland camp as a squad player. This won’t stop Wests Tigers from ramping up discussions to lure Mbye this season.

Tigers captain Chris Lawrence believed it would be a major boost to attract the Canterbury fullback for the remainder of the year.

“A few weeks are a long time in footy but if we were able to secure a quality player earlier than expected, that is only a positive for our season this year,” Lawrence said.

“He is a quality player that will add to our roster and only lift our training standards and provide more competition for spots, which is going to improve our performance. I’m very excited for the club to sign a player of Moses’ calibre.

“Hopefully that is a sign to attract some more high-quality players, as well as keep developing the juniors we have coming through. Having someone like Moses could give our juniors more incentive to stay.”

Tigers winger David Nofoaluma would also like to see Mbye in Tigers colours this season. Nofoaluma knows what the Canterbury star is capable of having played alongside him in the Junior Kangaroos in 2013.

“It would be great for the Tigers if Moses came this season,” Nofoaluma said.

“We’d take an X-factor player any day of the week.

“If he was to come this year, I think Tigers fans and the playing group will be excited.”

My comments are based on opinion and I stand by that

It's been reported all over this forum and by the media that Reynolds is on 750k a season, along with Mbye being on 700k for year 3 and 4 once again not saying these are the figures but I'm basing it on these numbers

Mbye and Reynolds together on a figure of 1.45 in there later years of the contract too are overs in comparison to what we could've got imo

Love Josh Reynolds's energy but mate he's been here for half a season and has already copped 2x 6 week injuries and played a total of about 50-60 mins in half a season, and there were question marks on his hammys when he signed…. I hope he carves up cause he seems like a guy you'd want around your club

Once again I'm gonna highlight the fact that it's my opinion and if you cant understand the fact that a public forum contains many different perspectives you shouldn't be on a forum if you can't accept that all us fans have the right to question the value of signings on this forum

You don't need to defend your right to an opinion, I respect that right, post as you please. There is a difference obviously between that right and my questioning the _content_ of an opinion.

I just don't get why people bother speculating about wages and relative value. Whatever has been reported, I am certain (my opinion) that the numbers are never accurate. It appears pointless, as do comments about relative value and "overs", because what do fans know about salary cap management.

**_I also don't get why people write up proposed sides each week, but that's just me._**

The day the NRL decides to publicly release salaries of all rosters, well, then we have a genuine discussion point on our hands.

Funny, its never interested me either, fifteen to 20 odd differing 1-17s in a thread with barely any discussion is zzzz

I don't get why some get upset at people proposing teams or proposing $$$$ figures

But in the same sentence how can people bag players for taking the supposed extra $$$$$ , we don't know that either …

Or accuse teams of being over the cap ....

Or questions ex players attitude to their teams .....

Most stuff on here is heresay unless it comes directly from their mouth and you hear the exact question asked we know very little

I thought we all supported the same footy team and hoped for the best every weekend , but it appears to be much , much deeper than that :nerd: (Not having a go at Ink or Jirskyr , just my thoughts )

It doesnt upset me…I just see it as a bit pointless and boring

Such a negative and spiteful attitude. Why don't they blame Dessie and Raelene instead..

They do, there's very few they don't blame including Dib. Their language is extreme and they are just a humourless lot really.

Do _they_ have anyone that checks out our forum, and if so what do _they_ say about us?

Actually that reminds me some dropkick stole my username on another forum years ago and was impersonating me…I think it was the Dogs too

How about Tui to be offered to other clubs

Subside money for a marquee second rower

I'll X2 that .. I actually thought he was horrible last weekend .. !! He seems to take wrong option most times, and most times that option is only for him .. he put a couple of kicks in last week and look like he never informed his other team mates that he was putting in a kick .. ?? even the the grubber kick where Rowdy scored .. that was kicked into a space where Tui could get to it .. it was just lucky that Rowdy got to as Tui was checked after the kick for himself .. !!

From what have seen of Tui so far in all his games for us .. I see brilliant, I don't see him losing any weight as asked by IC, and most of the options he has taken on the field have been for himself, not the team … I don't think he is going to improve to a point where we need to keep him.

He was terrible in the first half, but looked heaps more involved and more potent in the second half. Wonder if it coincided with Reynolds coming on and adding some spark. Set up Rowdy's try, as bad as the kick was, and drew the defenders and put the pass on for Nofo to cross.

I am reliably told Dogs are paying 250k. Mbye was on 900k for the next 2 years which, is staggering.
I have no knowledge of the 4 year deal we negotiated as its complexly seperate to what the Dogs know. They believe we have signed him on 650k p.a for 4 years.

I believe Mbye has agreed to come before June 30 with the Tigers paying him 400k for this year. The math is we are then paying 550k p.a for 4 years. I’ll guess he will be here on the 18th of June week before our bye.

In how many weeks will he be here?
