OK let's be honest now

Saying our attack is poor is ignoring the defensive efforts of the opposition. So far we've played three highly structured, experienced defensive teams so it's not surprising the games were a grind. Our forwards are giving us decent penetration and I have confidence our attack will come once the team settles.
At this stage I'm just pleased to see the resolve in defence - we've made the attack of Storm, Roosters and Broncos look poor.

3 tries in 3 games is a massive concern. Anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial. And if you want to get real picky, the 3 tries we have scored all have had a slice of luck about them. Reynolds is a street fighter who is as tenacious as they come. But cand he improve the attack that much? I don’t know.

So what's the answer? It's not like we anyone in the club who is magically going to turn us into a try scoring machine. I think points will be hard to come by all season for one main reason - we lack genuine pace out wide, no one in our backline is going to burn the opposition on pure speed. Most our wins are going to come ugly.

Recruit no. 30?

Defence 10/10
Attack 1/10

I don't see our full strength side changing anything in attack and I also don't think you can use that as an excuse. Its very rare a side goes into a game full strength and to be honest its unlikely we will at any stage have a full roster available. We don't have pace, we don't have any players who put any fear into the players defensively (Matulino and Packer get us going forward but arent line breakers).

Forget tries, we have hardly made a line break in 3 games.

The only one in our backline who looks like doing anything is Thompson with his speed, marsters and Nofo are hard to tackle but have no speed and Kev and MWZ don't offer anything in attack

The team is having a real crack this year but I'm sure Cleary will be chasing pace, a winger and a centre

Well there's that…a hybrid mutant with wolverine claws, catlike reflexes and the ability to run 100 metres in 7.5 seconds.

x1000.

And Thompson really only looks dangerous in open field as well. None of them are great whole runners etc

I don’t buy this. Other teams that have played them so far haven’t struggled scoring points.

If someone was to tel me a month ago that we would be in situation that we are today ….. Well I have lots to be happy about..

Great organised committed defence
Buy in by the players
Everyone seems to be happy and settled etc. Etc. Etc.

But yes attack will improve as long as our structure and confidence don’t suffer.

Always took this year for a foundation bricks on which we can really build a good all round side on.

We need some class, speed and height ..... and getting a good fullback and a centre will do me. But we should wait and see how the season develops for us before putting all our money in the pot.

You are right, we have only scored 1 lucky try a game, other sides can score against these teams without much trouble

Sounds like Ferguson's bad head on JAC's body.

I think last night we saw a game plan to take the offloads up again yet another notch. However, it clearly failed due to dropped ball and the team had to readjust the game plan on the fly. At one stage we were barely completing 50%.

Credit where it's due, we readjusted to a more solid, competitive plan in the second 40\. I hope we have another go at the more expansive game in better conditions, hopefully against parra as they might not number up as well against the offload as our last 3 opponents. Multiple phases, when executed better, will lead to lots of points, but very hard to play that way when you are gassed.

All I can say is,the old adage ….get the defense right and the attack will come...small steps my friends....Ivan has instilled so much confidence in this team of almost complete recruits,he has them defending like no other Tigers team for years, they are playing for each other, they play for 80 minutes and once they gel completely it will be amazing, just be patient, enjoy the ride and let Ivan do his work...

For me Iam absolutely stoked to be a member and fanatical fan of this club and team...very happy and excited for this season..

Roosters have had 10 and 12 points against
Storm have had 14, 10 and 18 against
Broncos had a shocker round 1 and 20 against in round 2

None of these sides are leaking easy points.

We've got a side that met each other over the summer - I don't think it's wrist slitting time yet. We've waited 6 or more years to be competitive so I think a few more weeks to get our full strength side on the park is reasonable.

One plus I guess is that we have no trouble working our way down the field, and our defence is probably the best we’ve ever seen. We didn’t even let in a try last night and these teams have attacking weapons all over the park. So we have a really solid foundation, now they just need to continue improving attacking structures close to the opposition’s line, which you could only see improving as combinations are formed and the team gains more confidence in each other in that regard. Once that clicks, we’re easily looking like a top 4 side tbh.

They are playing to their strengths - its great coaching.
We have no speed so most of our trys will come from good go forward. I cant see it changing much this year with our current roster.
Just dont know how long they can sustain it.

Mightn't need any offloads Monday week, just take aim at your mate Judas.

What luck was involved in Chee-Kam's TRY..?

I keep hearing when the top sides click in attack we are screwed..well there were 4 genuine TRY scoring opportunities for us and it wasn't lack of speed or X-Factor they were blown it was execution…when we click other teams better look out...

The attack is a concern but we've held three pretty strong attacking units to a combined total of two tries. Sure 10-8, 10-8, 7-9 looks like some old school Davis Cup tennis score but we've never had such a consistently good defensive performance.

Lawrence dropped three passes.

Marshall threw some bad passes.

Alioia dropped the ball with line wide open.

Defence is all about attitude which WT now have.

Need to invest in a speedy winger and decent centre.

Sorry but Lawrence and Kevin as hard as they try and not NRL standard
