Olam's Send Off

Heartbreaking he had a career ending injury so much potential I've never seen JWH humbled like that you can see in his eyes he's like "i guess you're the big dawg in town".
Man we’ve had some real shit moments as a club

Simon Dwyer & The tank having career ending injuries are up there. Scott Prince leaving us for titans.. Adam Blair being a total dud… list could go on for ages tbh lol

Not to mention the salary cap. Particularly in Sydney. Well though out post.

Not unexpected, I thought he would get the rest of the season and a game or two next year.

Just take the 3 weeks and he can be back for the game we have been looking forward to all season, Round 27, The Wooden Spoon Spectacular at Cambo against the Parra-sites.
Parra-sites---I love that name 🤣 🤣 🤣

There is far too much doubt in this to send it off straight away. If this happens in a game that matters even a little bit, it's not even a sin bin. It's not an anti- Tigers agenda, it's incompetence and lack of care of bottom 4 teams.

Payten complained about this 4 years ago ironically..
I had a brief conversation with a die-hard Roosters fan yesterday and the 1st thing he said was what a disastrous joke the Olam sendoff was.
I like Roosters fans now 🤣

I was shocked it was a send-off, at worst I was worried about being binned. I was there live.

I always considered that the benchmark for a send-off was a swinging or stiff arm, because shoulders are notoriously challenging to control for contact and can easily slide up or off other body parts or the football.

To me Olam seemed to rise into the tackle, Luki leaned in and Olam slid up into the jaw. I did not observe an attack - careless or intentional - at the jaw, but rather a shot that climbed too high. Jared Maria Hargreaves makes these kinds of rising tackles all the time and his punishment is usually sin-bin.

I just don't think that Ashley Klein has a proper feel for rugby league. He's too bookish, too black and white about rules. Isn't Klein also the one that intervened in that Cowboys game the other year where they challenged the Feldt kickoff obstruction and Klein awarded the match-turning penalty from the bunker? Typical over-reach that the Bunker should not be used for.
That was Klein. Penalised us for an alleged escort after the match had ended. As I recall the NRL mouthpiece subsequently had to admit he was wrong.

In reserves today, there were at least 3 hits that would've resulted in a sin bin or even send off in firsts. But without video ref intervention, they were only deemed worthy of a penalty.
