If Harry is what got us in the game that's a bit of a concern. Can Liddle do that?

He didn’t mate . It was Liddle . He’s amazing at putting the forwards onto the footy , and little deception around the ruck . Like little jinks to the left , and going right . Then Doing it again and actually going left . He watches what the first marker does (most teams have the first marker shoot , then the second trail ) .

To be fair, Grant was doing that pre injury. Taking nothing away from Liddle.

If he stays healthy for a season, watch out.

Yep , I’m not bashing grant . He’s a weapon ! And seems like a good bloke. But he wasn’t our saviour tonight . And the guys who were , at the moment are the ugly step children , so people don’t want to give them the love they deserve .
I’ve been royally irritated with brooks lately . But he was the one tonight .

Honestly rewatch the comeback and watch Grant. It was unbelievable. He was playing prop, hooker and halfback.

Liddle added some spark when he came on. Allowed Grant to play as a lock - the difference was that he actually looked like he wanted the ball, unlike our other forwards. Many giving Benji grief here but maybe he actually took a step back and let Brooks, Grant and others take the lead - maybe Madge even directed him to.

There is no way Benji took a step back...benji still came up with a dud kick when not needed and luck saved us. But Grant was the player who basically had the courage to take over. Benji is out there, crabbing sideways and killing the attack so many times but players still feed him as he is Benji. Grant straightened us up and we finally had direction.

Again...I don't want to hammer Benji, but the sideways crab players make it very hard for everyone else.

I'm a fan of Liddle and I got neg repped for saying that Liddle is way faster in his dummy half service than Grant ? but anyway I'm glad we won tonight and hopefully we find our mojo now and carry it on to next season moving forward

his work for Nofoaluma's third try when Douehi made the break as fantastic. He kept following the ball from Left to Right and when ??Garner made that offload, Grant was there to take advantage. That from a guy who's played 70+ minutes and probably made 40+ tackles and still his first year is incredible.

No doubt that he will be something special.

I watched that with looking for Liddle to be the difference maker and all I saw was Grant. I'm not convinced he wouldn't be an all time great halfback off what I saw.

The sealer for me was how hard he worked in defense on the set that Manly couldn't ruck it out.

Anyone know what happened to Mikaele out there tonight?Played 30 odd minutes but only had 2 hit ups?

Well he started and for like the opening 15 minutes we had 1 set.

I just rewatched the comeback. Harry Grant was everywhere. He was unbelievable. Liddle's service was exceptional but the best thing he did was give room to Grant to play every other position and he did. He played halfback, ran decoy line, backed up every ruck, hell he was there waiting for the bat back on the last try. Grant was put simply incredible. It was poetry. I cannot state how dumbfounded I was by his play in the last 11 minutes.

Noooo don't say that 😢 I was hoping it was Liddle. I'll rewatch. Bitter sweet to the max.

Like OP said at least Harrys performance is showing a bit of what we need next year when he go's back to Melb. Can't hurt.

Brooks was excellent behind a throughly beaten forward pack. No field position and away at Brookvale. He really stood up and owned this result. We badly need some

Middle forwards thought Twal and Aloai were good but we were no match in the middle for a monstrous and tough Eagles pack.

We need to upgrade Garner Blore has to become an edge weapon for us. Garner is a good player just too slight in build and gets man handled and run over too often.

Garner is a fine player but he shouldn't be a starting player. If our team was good enough for him to be depth we'd be alright. Leilua is different. Really good.

To come back with that energy in the last 10 after being on the end of absolutely no ball, no field position and alot of dodgy calls is great.

We did to a team what normally happens to us! HOW GOOD

He is young and learning his trade. Will improve.

It’s a rare virus called ‘Packers Disease’

Grant is a freak and I just feel like he knows the game inside out. Despite it only being his 1st year in the top grade

His stint at another position reminded me when C Smith filled in at halfback at storm when they destroyed the roosters

I'm glad you posted this. That bit of vision should be replayed to the team on loop.

The effort to back up his pass to Garner (Garner almost bombed a try) was unbelievable. That's pure effort

Upon watching it again and yes Harry was busy, very busy, doing exactly what I was sure that I saw the first time around and doing it well. Still, the best thing he did was to be there, ever ready to fill in, especially at dummy half, but not get in the way of Brooks controlling the game, only taking the role once when Brooks was busy and vocal in organising for the first play after the scrum.

It was a good move from Maguire and something I had wanted to see, along with @HappyTiger who I think was also calling for them (Liddle and Grant) to be on the field together.

Correlation is causation. Liddle goes out there and we score three tries in ten. We won the last game he started. He's an absolute weapon.

Umm correlation is NOT causation.. if I ate peanuts every time the tigers won, doesn’t mean the tigers won because I ate peanuts.
