Opinions on Best Way Forward

What are everyones thoughts on how Wests Tigers best move forward from all the recent dramas ?
Would you make Galvin play out his contract, or would you release him early ?
If you would release him early would you be looking for a player or players in return, and if so what players would you be targeting who you believe could be realistic options ?
Adding to this, do you think our on field results this season will be better with or without Galvin ?
Do you believe we are a realistic chance of making the top 8 this season with Galvin or do you believe we are a realistic chance of making the top 8 this season without Galvin ?
Do you believe Benji can coach and is our best option moving forward ?
What are your honest thoughts on our current depth and do you believe we have fringe player development issues within our club ?

I don’t think we will move forward, as you say. We are stuck in Groundhog Day.

Galvin is gone either way, his future with us is untenable. I’m surprised he was even picked this week.

DCE would be a great replacement for a couple of years, but it’s highly unlikely he would come here. In any case, we desperately need a forward and we still have Fainu if he ever gets on the field.

We are no chance of making the 8 with or without Galvin. The shit that has happened this past week (and is continuing) has made sure of that.

Jury is still out on whether Benji can coach or not, for me. It’s still early days in his coaching career. The team has improved slightly on last season, but that’s probably down to the players we’ve bought moreso than Benji’s brilliant coaching. Time will tell.

Our depth always needs improving. I have no idea what’s going on with the development side of things.

Hold firm.
I wouldn’t as I feel having him is better than any alternatives. This can be treated very much like the Matt Burton / Penrith situation. You play your best 17.
I want the focus for the rest of the season to be on Luai becoming the best kicker and organiser that he can. That was his wish, he wants to own it, he has the skill just needs time in repetition to apply it. I honestly see Luai as being the closest possible player in the game to JT but right now I think he is caught between setting up structure and taking advantage of it. Luai just needs to work on perfecting an impeccable kicking game. This next stage is most important for Luai and probably is the most crucial player in all this.
I’m on the fence at the moment with the 8. We keep our best 17 on the park all year we will push for it. We don’t and have to go to our depth we will suffer.
Yes to Marshall, right person, right now, showing signs of growth and you’ve got to remember he jumped right into coaching at the top grade, there isn’t really anyone that has done that before him except maybe Fittler at the Chooks. I think he has a greater coaching skill set then Fittler so shouldn’t go down that same path. Mind you Fittler did set the Chooks up for success navigating a difficult stage of having overpriced underperforming recruits and blooding in some solid juniors.
I don’t think we have a professional approach to our pathways development but I don’t have any connection to see what is being done behind closed doors.

Best way is to stop talking about it and starve the story of oxygen.

Everything that could have been said has been said. All opinions have been heard.

Richo has made the call not to release him and that is what we are going to do.

After this whole drama passes, the Tigers should take the Roosters stance and never deal with Isaac Moses again.

If every club took that stance, the game would be rid of him.

Best way to move forward is to win every game in every grade until the end of time.
Seriously, i would get rid of galvin asap. Just move on. Only one club can probably afford him now. Take away his options. Dogs will be back if its the end of the year. Make sure he doesnt cash in...
Dont let him have a bidding war.
Final option is a family holiday paid for by the club to North Korea. I'm sure they would end up there for a while.

Why help Parra get off the bottom, while we lose our starting half for no return?

No way I'd let him go.

You cannot just let him move on. It’s like walking away from a school bully after he’s just whacked you in the nose for the 10th time. He’s coming back again next week.

He is gone. Why drag it out...media is going to talk about it until he is gone.
also he is not as good as some say.
I dont actually think he will be in fg in 5 years time. Really dont think he is all that.
lol come on.
I’m one of his biggest critics over the past year and even I think he has a 15+ year career ahead of him in the NRL, chock full of SOO and Test appearances.

Why make other teams better when you don't have to?
Just my opinion, but I don’t think Galvin will be at his best while wearing our colours as his heart won’t be in it as hard as he tries.
If we play him in NSW Cup we are still disadvantaged as we effectively lose a quality NRL player.
If the above assumptions prove to be true, would we not be better off trading him for a player or players that would benefit us ?

Sure. If we get a player of value, then that is a fair trade. I just wouldn't let him go for nothing in return.
