Opportunity lost

A big opportunity was lost tonight… I really feel, the difference between a definite Top 8 with a likely charge towards the Top 4 was for the taking --- NOW looking at a dogfight for the bottom places in the 8 with no certainty to even make the 8.

Now, I'm very sensitive to whats transpired over the last 2 weeks.. And Maybe we just have to accept this and hope the guys can turn it around soon.. Maybe whats happened (with the sad passing Of Mrs Farah) is going to have far greater consequences..And at what point/ or how do we know this and will it be an excuse for the rest of the season.. It's such a sensitive issue and It must be so hard for the boys...

But right now, I just feel against an average Knights team and 14-0 up... I think we just thought - We got this and the attitude dropped, they got the ball and some calls and there you go we are behind and they got their tails up and smashed us and we had nothing...

The 2 points for the bye will slightly mask things, as We will be around 7th or 8th still after next week, BUT we are looking at 3 losses on the trot against the Dogs... And losing that game may have us out of the 8 and struggling.. Sure, If we beat the dogs, then to be honest It would have made up for the Knights loss right away (I'd be so happy), BUT I'm taking this game as a big turning point as we would have been on 22 points going into the dogs game.. and Now Its a bigger game then it may not have needed to be....

Of course, the flip side to my negativity is -- this CAN also be a turning point to turn our season around with a win against the dogs - Beat the dogs and we then charge onwards and upwards.. BUT right now, it just shows that we are NOT anywhere near a Top 4 side and actually just hanging in for the Top 8 ( sadly, where we are is probably a true reflection of how we have played currently).. We now give sides like Warriors and Dragons and even those lower a sniff!!! They'd all be cheering tonight, as We've just made the table more closer together /// We've gone away from around the top 4 and subsequently given those below a big chance to catch us for a Top 8 birth.

The Only positive tonight was Robbie playing.. and playing pretty well also... I havent checked stats, but it didn't look like anyone stood out for us at all... Woodsy and Galloway dug in, no doubt and would have decent stats.. but It was just an all round average performance from the team -- Our defence was terrible!

We need to find something and quick because the season is about to really heat up and really take shape.. Are we in for the ride ? Can we lift and and charge to the finals ? Or is this loss a sign of where we are heading for the rest of the year... C'mon, Love ya tigers... Do it for each other, for your family for the club. You guys can do it!

The teams around and about us keep on winning and our F/A is slipping away fast. All the good work of 7 straight wins has been in lost in 2 diabolical losses, going from 4th to a distant 8th. It's gonna take a massive effort to get back from this and I really don't think they have it in them this year.

My first comment on the loss - I think we are quickly realising that while we are a good side we are just not consistently tough enough mentally at the moment to be contenders.

In saying that we have to take the injuries into account and the recent off-field issue.

Perhaps the bye has come at just the right time for the team.

The potential is there within the team - whether or not they can rebound is up to them.

For an experienced team, we just don't have the mental fortitude to play consistent footy. It seems as though we are more comfortable when we are behind as it lets us play razzle dazzle

yeah if we had won, there would have been a clear 4 points difference between the top 8 and the rest.

tigers have been doing it for years. Get out to 16 point lead and pack it in (i know we didnt verse canberra or panthers) but i hate seeing us jump out to early leads.

they can't just go with it, when the game is off the team has a tendency to pack it in completely.
