He is not an upgrade he is almost in his mid 30's.We need to sign blokes like him like an extra hole in the head

We need a hard arse, experienced forward to help mentor and lead these young blokes.
Tamou has the experience but because he plays like a pussy these days, the boys won’t follow him.
We need someone else.

But how is a bloke that stood out in Origin last year NOT an upgrade on the likes of -
Luke Garner
Alex Seyfarth
Shawn Blore
Tuki Simpkins and
Kelma...

Basically all our Back Rowers bar Luch, Who is out next year....

Because he's a has been. He may have been okay in SOO last year but he wasn't much for Saints. He can't crack it for first grade this year and no-one else wants him, despite what you may read. Another waste of cap space.

This doesn't particularly apply to Sims but in general, an "origin" forward isn't necessarily the best thing. It means that they can play 3 high intensity games a year. If we were a top 4 or top 6 side, an origin forward could help us with that extra push, that extra battered body that can lift for the finals.

Obviously if that origin forward is Cam Murray, Yeo or Paulo that's a different thing.

We need someone who's more known for their training, their effort and mentorship. Like a Mitch Aubusson, Luke Lewis, Dale Finance type.

Disappointed that we let the game go against a weakened opponent last week.

On the positive side, I thought out initial contact in defense was noticeably better than in previous years (at least for around 50 mins).
