Can Ivan Cleary coach talented players or is he better at coaching scrapers like the Tigers and the Penrith team in 2012 2013 2014 before he was sacked in 2015 for not getting the results because i dont think he is capable of getting the attack going for Penrith this year without Phil Goulds help

His ego thought he was too good to be coaching us.

Penriths 3 games with scores 12/20 loss 14/12 win and tonight massacre suggest they have next to no attack and very bad defense. I wonder if Cleary would like to turn back the clock.

I enjoyed every second of the game tonight seeing them get taken to pieces by the Storm.
Gus thinks Ivan is looking tired and thinking about giving him a season or two off to recover.
 
My pre season tip was Penrith to miss the 8, looking good so far.
I thought everyone was rating them way too high.
They've got one play, flat ball to Kikau running a line.
Other than that it's a Cleary bomb and hope for a fumble.
 
That would make my weekend. If they just keep playing like they have been we’ll pick them apart like the Storm have done tonight.
 
I don't know what it is with Ivan, I don't know if his game plan while he was coaching us was to save the forwards for defence and that's why our forwards were doing nothing in attack but this year our forwards seem to be attacking well. Or maybe he's just really bad at coaching attack.
 
We are a differnt club under Madge. We need to be more Storm loke and results will follow.

Yes Seve was one of our juniors, Bennett signed him and then left him in State cup, I don’t think he even got a shot at NRL.
There was a bit of talk on here about re-signing him but nothing happened.
Bellamy takes him down there and will turn him into a star.
 
Hes coaching Penrith this year like he coach the Tigers last year and how he coach the Panthers when Gus jumped in to fix the attack and was sacked
 
I didnt like what Ivan did but we ended up with a better coach so I'm ok with it now.

As for Penrith I think thier squad is overrated and prob is weaker then last year

They lost a lot of experience last year into this year - Peter Wallace was a former Origin player at hooker, Trent Merrin a former origin player in the pack, Tyron Peachey a current origion player, Harwiera Neira a good young agressive forward who played 20 games off the bench, chrichton who played 20 games on the wing and McKendry and tyrone may

They replaced them with rookies and the only FG signings were Tim Grant, MWZ and Hama Sele all of whom spent most of last yr in NSW cup.

That is a big drop off in experience and ability and I think they are short on quality. Edwards runs hard but doesent do much else , Tamou is getting older and RCG is overrated, they get nothing out of hooker and so everything relies on the halves and for all the good they provide they cant support a weakening pack
