Panthers dump Segeyaro to reserve grade

Seggy has fallen from grace very quickly, it was only last year when nine did that feel good piece on him how he had risen from the school of hard knocks to find a home at the foot of the mountains, now he is being shown the door and alleged to be mixing with some undesirables. It seems Gus doesn't muck around when it comes to moving players on

Apparently more to do with Hook who reckons it is impossible to play structure with him at DH, they are pretty keen on Soni Luke

they also have another Sione Katoa & Zach Dockar-Clay, good prospects who can play hooker.

Not worth starting another thread for, but ….

First Nathan Peats was told to leave Parramatta. Now his fearless replacement Isaac De Gois has been all but told to pack his bags as well.

That is the latest to come out of the troubled club with De Gois admitting that he has been basically left with no option but to find a new home for 2017.

While the 31-year-old NRL veteran has been offered a deal for next year, The Saturday Telegraph understands it is only worth about $100,000, almost half of what De Gois is currently on.

Maybe tigers will look at segy now that ballin is out for the season/retiring and Leeds are pushing hard for Robbie before June 30 and have him start and cherry off the bench, but my guess will be if Robbie goes we will play dene at hooker with cherry off the bench, just a thought no truth to it

i'd swap farah, halatau and cherrington for segeyaro atm. not coz seggy is special but simply coz i want to get rid of some people.

That's a kick in the guts aint it

Shame on Parra
I still maintain the punishment they have been given is not fair and just

Look at how that thieving cheating club is impacting players lives

Outraged !!!

He wasn't contracted for next year. I doubt they intend to have him as their primary hooker, he'll be a backup or bench hooker depending on whether they recruit a 50 or 80 minute primary hooker. They're just realising how tight the cap is when you actually try to comply with it - you can't afford to have backups on $200K+.

Talented yes.

Hot and Cold player. yes

Starting to have injuries. yes

Issues with attitude: yes

Do we need some one of his ability - yes

Is he the right mix for our improved culture - No

I would invest my time and money into Liddle and we have Ballin on board in 2017.

A big NO from me.

I don't hold much hope of Ballin playing many games in 2017 Everett… If any.

Brisbane is shaping as a potential destination for James Segeyaro.

The hooker is languishing in reserve grade and has no long-term future at the Panthers, who won't stand in his way should he wish to go before June 30.

The Broncos' regular rake, Andrew McCullough, is likely to be sidelined with a fractured thumb for at least another month, and we're hearing last year's grand finalists could make an offer.

Segeyaro has received offers to shift to the Super League but is holding out in the hope of resurrecting his NRL career.

LOL

Penshurst Hotel rumour is that Segeyaro has narrowed down two possible destinations. Wests or SL (Ballin injury big factor). Ex panthers player currently at Wests is involved in possible recruitment.

He doesn't want to go to Brisbane.

Suppose money talks in the end, so who knows.

Cherrington & Seggy - straight swap?

I would take Seggy, very good out of dummy half and quick service.

Knowing Penrith will pay a significant amount of the contract, I'd take him get Cherry apart of the deal and give Liddle another year in NSW cup for 2017 and promote him to first grade in 2018

Halatau - retiring
Farah - Off to Leeds
Ballin - might retire or last year in 2017
Cherrington - Penrith

Keep
Liddle and Seggy

Probably end up with all six. Lol
I do like your scenario tho.

So true lol

Apparently Leeds is interested in Segeyaro also. Farah will need to make a decision sooner than later, or that big offer deal may get retracted.

I would like to see Seggy here. I think he would compliment both Moses and Brooks..

Just curious here but how much do you guys think Seggy is worth?

For me he's value is quite high as he is only 25 and shows great performances is a bit inconsistent but when he's on his IMO the best running dummy half in the game

What I would like to pay: 300k

What he wants: 550k

Not real facts just guessing ^^^

Thoughts?

If Farah is being paid 700K (yes, aware that the rumoured figure is 900K with owed monies,) Seggy is worth 500-550K.
