James Segeyaro may have played his last game for Penrith after the former PNG hooker was dumped to reserve grade.

Segeyaro will pay a heavy price for his infamous night out with Eels playmaker Corey Norman and former Eel Junior Paulo, with the former Cowboy on the outer over his form on and off the field. Later that evening, Norman was stopped outside The Star casino during a routine inspection of patrons. The Eels playmaker was subsequently charged for allegedly possessing MDMA capsules and muscle relaxants, despite the attempts of another member of the group, Daniel Petras, to take the fall. Police issued the footballing trio with consorting notices, warning them not to associate with known criminals.

It is understood Segeyaro's presence that evening, coupled with indifferent performances since making his return from injury, will result in him moving on at the end of the season, if not earlier.

During his sabbatical, Peter Wallace capably filled the void at hooker before shifting back into the halves to cover for the injured Te Maire Martin. In the process, Wallace impressed to the point where he is expected to earn a one-year contract extension.

It is a rapid fall for a playmaker who earned Dally M hooker of the year honours in 2014 and was called up to the Australian Prime Minister's XIII last season after switching allegiances from his native PNG. Instead of running out against Melbourne at AAMI Park on Saturday night, he will take on Wests Tigers in the Intrust Super Premiership fixture at Leichhardt Oval.
