Panthers offer Sheens $2m deal

Sheens will sign with us for two more years & then be director of coaching for two more years according to the tele which i think could be spot on.

We have given him a firm offer which is is holding out on signing.

We should follow up with a deadline on a decission so we can get planning if he walks.

Sheens could wear his flannos to work and they do have cable water skiing…

Lol!!

And of course there is the lure of wearing ugg boots to training!

If they write a bucket of free balls per week for Aqua Golf and he's all theirs I reckon.

WESTS Tigers NRL coach Tim Sheens has asked for time to consider his future after receiving a big-money offer, believed to be from Penrith.

Sheens, in his ninth season at the Tigers, has vacillated over his future for weeks and it is understood the Panthers have tabled an offer which could prise him away from the club he led to the 2005 premiership.

If he does decide to return to Penrith at season's end, it would represent a homecoming of sorts for the four-time premiership winner.

Sheens played his entire first grade career at Penrith and began his premiership coaching career at the club in 1984, spending four years at the helm of the Panthers and leading the club to its first finals series in 1985 before switching to Canberra.

Penrith is on the look-out for a coach from next season after informing Matthew Elliott his contract would not be extended.

Former St George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown was believed to be the front-runner for the job but he has been usurped by Sheens.

It is understood Brown could be offered the job if Sheens declines.

Make the call for him Humphry's,see ya mate.

As far as i am concerned Sheens can go ,blind freddy could see he was holding out to see what happened at Penrith ,Sheens goes we end up with Brown oh no

I'm actually getting suspicious that this sudden Elliot sacking wasn;t quite so sudden and that Sheens has been delaying his decision on the Tigers offer for a reason.
Now we know what the reason was.
Will be interesting to see what his final decision is.
He's done good things for the club off the field but on field has been pretty ordinary a lot of the time.

We had nothing when Sheens arrived. 1 win away from semis in 04 and we all remember 05\. The salary cap bites. We only had 1 member of our backline at the end of 06\. Name me another coach who would have got better results. We were 1 win away from a grand final last year and we lost to the eventual premiers who went on to win world club challenge. You are all panicking. Remember the Souths game at the SCG last year? This years injury toll can only get better. Surely!! Tigers Forever.

The way he deflected the question of a contract with penrith when asked to him did sound like there could be something to this.
