Panthers offer Sheens $2m deal

I could have coached the Dragons to the premiership with the team they had when Brown coached. I dont' rate him at all.
I've called for Sheens to move on in previous years, but not after last year - we almost won the comp. I'm more than happy for him to stay on. We have had the worst injury toll this year but are doing OK all things considered. We'll come good and step up and have another good crack at it come Sept/Oct.

Dunno, he may have, I dont recall that.
I just find it hard to imagine he would be satified with a lesser position as hes in now, can only think he'd surely one day want a head role again

Well if he wanted to make inroads back to top tier coaching Penriff would probably have him being a side reliant on their big pack and I imagine he would come fairly cheap.

I can confirm that Folkes wants to coach. Not sure if he would go to Penrith though as it's a long way from home.

Long way from home…..lol.....that definantly rules him out going to england then.

England is a re-location.

Driving 100 kilometers a day, 7 days a week is a bit different.

Yeah…..i know was just kidding.Anyway i know 2gb mentioned brown maybe going to the panthers.

Personally i think what they have done to elliots a bit rough.Last year they finished 2nd then bombed out but still a good year for them.He musnt have support of the players anymore

Is what Penrith doing a bit rough?
Or what we've done with Sheens a bit soft?
Elliot had 4 years before this season - semis once
Sheens 8 years before this season - semis twice
Sheens semis record much better but overall theyre fairly similar % wise.
Just why is Sheens oh so much better than Ellott?
Their results are vitually the same at their current clubs.

I know it amazes me,Elliott is a mug apparently,and Sheens a genius. 😕

Well since his first year hes been skating on thin ice so much pressure from the club.Hes only as good as his last year isnt he and they made the major semis so it was a good year.

I have never said he is better who bloody knows really.I would say sheens is only because of the experience would be a better coach.

Who say bennetts so good who says bellamy is and so on.Its reputation they have built up over the years.

851 who said elliotts a mug i think panthers treated him unfairly.

why is Sheens Better??

Because WT were a basket-case club with no money and no player pulling power.

Now we are not, we still got somewhat to travel as well.

Happy for Sheen's to move on. Need some fresh ideas and a coach who uses the bench correctly.

I agree. While Sheens has been good overall for the club in regard to juniors and retention. He seems to be stale on ideas as to how to motivate the team and perhaps the players are a little stale of him as well. **A change would not do any harm.**

How is that a foregone conclusion - look at what happened when Baa got his chance at the club!!!

Look at the Cows after Henry replaced Murray - Kearney replacing Anderson at Parra etc….

Unless you can find a deadset sure thing like Bennett - there is every possibility a change could send our club backwards at a great rate!!!

As for stale - take a look at Folkes final years at the dogs for your definition of a stale coach!!!

if sheens stays for 2 more years after that he should be retained in some form within the club, i still think he would have a lot to offer the club away from coaching.

bennett is no dead set certainty, he goes to where the money is in abundance. the knights are not a bad team but i dont think they will be winning a premiership in 2 years like what he pulled at the dragons.

yeah, folkesy went real bad in the end at the bulldogs trainwreck more like it.

Folksy 'went bad' because of the idiotic players in his side like Mason and Maitua etc etc. Folkes will be a good coach for us because he is a meat and potatoes coach. Common sense. Square peg in the square hole, round peg in the round hole.

Chris Anderson perfect example of someone going stale

Who would want to coach Penriff??? I dont think that is likely, and they will most likely get someone from the UK as an opportunity into NRL Coaching Ranks… Then again, there is always John Lang

4 coaches I have heard mentioned are Steve Georgallis ,Ricky Stuart ,Tim Sheens and Nathan Brown . 1 who was mentioned to me by a friend that he had heard about was Mal Meninga but I had not heard that name previously
