what's the point in developing juniors like this kid and TMM etc?

This is the question. We are the feeder team for when the Storm come calling.

You'll get Happy rejoicing how Dale Copley would be a good buy when in fact he is not good enough for the Broncs, not good enough for the Roosters but great for us.

How many Tigers players have gone to the Storm?

Players Jnr Moors, Marika Koroibete, Josh Addo-Carr..Wests Juniors Koroibete…

Ryan Hoffman

Don't think he ever played for Wests…

Am I missing something? Isn't Tedesco only 24? So you want to have a succession plan for someone who could have another 10 years in the game? I'll start training up my 8yr old nephew who might be ready by the time Tedesco retires.

Is that it? 3 players since 1999? Hardly a feeder club. If I was ever going to make such an outrageous claim, I'd use the Sharks at least.
Anyway, makes no sense to pay big dollars for a Shannon Gallant sized, potential star of the future.

Because you also end up with players like Tedesco, Moses, Brooks, Woods, Suli, Sue, Nofo, Liddle, Felise, Tatola, Marsters, Sironen, Marshall, Farah, Fulton, Gibbs, O'Neill, Galea, Dwyer, Lui, Lawrence, Fifita, Koroibete… you get the point.

We are sitting on a huge junior nursery, why would we abandon it just because some clubs who have little to no nursery step in occasionally sign some players up. Only problem with not developing your own kids is you always get second bite at the cherry and you can't work the loyalty angle straight away, you have to have some other selling points like Storm (coach and culture) or Roosters (brown paper bags).

We are associated with football clubs whose sole purpose is to develop junior talent. Would you really want to disassociate with Magpies JRLFC and Balmain JRLFC from the occasional angst of losing a Pap or a Hoffman.

Personally I'd be happy to do away with club-associated junior footy if the NRL ever decide to take it all over, take over all local footy codes and control the influx of players from junior areas into NRL (this likely comes hand-in-hand with a draft). My gut tells me that day is coming, the now-cashed-up NRL are already doing things like buying The Immortals from RLW, essentially merging with Touch Football Australia etc.

After watching Hoffman play for Wests back in 01/02 was really pumped to see him + Fulton etc but alas the storm took him away

I assumed it was NRL players…guess we could throw un Israel Folau to then..Minno Cobras

Current managements fault !!!

I thought i'd read it all before i read about needing to sign someone as a succession plan for a 24 year old lol.

We need a centre now , not in 5 years time and being only 76 kgs how do you think Ryan would even go in the centres short term or even long term

CB, sometimes you have to pay out good money to retain the best juniors. That is the way of the NRL.

Slater is the best I have ever seen. Darius Boyd is an outstanding fullback and I rate him very highly. Tedesco is very good but not at their level.

He is currently the No 2 fullback in the game , what more do you want ??

Papenhuyzen has proven nothing , just another talented junior at this stage

No different from Shannon Gallant really

Mullaney was a great talent and we let him go

Papa who? Isn't he a fast bowler in the big bash?

Whoever hates Tedesco is an idiot.

He's the best fullback in the world and the worlds greatest bloke.

Nice one Harvs, well played

Has Grant Meyer sabotaged this thread?
Seriously, James Tedesco is the best thing to happen to this club since Benji hit the scene. Yeh it's a shame to lose a promising talent like RP but we need to focus on re-signing our blokes who are performing in 1sts now.
